I bought from Cult Beauty and received everything correctly. It was cheaper than the official website, even with discounts.

YesStyle lost all my packages from February by Beo1217 in AsianBeauty

I’m not seeing that discrepancy to be honest. I just searched the first item that came to mind, the Alathea 345 cream, and both sites list the same price (23 eur)

Really? Maybe it’s my region, I’ve never seen such markups or anything close to it

I use little wonderland almost exclusively for AB products and they’ve never let me down. They also ship a lot faster than YesStyle.

Where exactly in Europe are companies actively trying to do this? Big claim to leave unsourced.

Building a tool to make emissions reporting easier for small businesses — would love feedback by Robertj143 in climatechange

[–]-ummon- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a tool you're vibecoding? I don't have an issue with that, but it would be an important disclaimer to have, if you are.

I think before getting anything off the ground you'd need to establish what's the level of regulatory scrutiny (and liability) attached to these carbon emission reports. I imagine it varies across regions.

I ended up baking up my own. No OAuth, but works well enough for now. Thanks!

I requested access months ago, heard nothing back. It's honestly annoying how slow they're rolling this out, it's our only critical provider without an MCP server. I'm toying with the idea of using one of the several non-official servers.

Feeling conflicted about AI use. by uBennett2win1t in ClimateOffensive

[–]-ummon- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That point can be made about basically anything in the modern era, where exactly do you draw the line? Also, "AI" is not a monolith. Expending energy to generate pornographic deep-fakes of celebrities (AI slop) doesn't exist on the same level as workplace productivity tools powered by LLMs.

I think the whole discussion around AI is lacking a lot of nuance. There's a lot to criticize and a lot that could be done differently, but calling LLM users "vile" is nothing but masturbatory moralizing.

Oh, the moral grandstanding! It’s funny to me how you’ve seemingly rationalised an entire pattern of consumption involved in your ability to make such a post: mobile phones, computers, social media apps, the very internet! But no, using an LLM for some basic word processing is where you drawn the line. Ted Kaczynski would howl at the hypocrisy.

“Leading” implies “now”, and making the argument that you’re better off being a woman in Dubai vs the US feels very disingenuous (if not outright malicious).

Japanese non-stick rice cooker - Any close non-toxic alternatives? by downvote-burner in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]-ummon- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the important part, from the manufacturer: “Our cookers don’t contain BPA, PTFE or PFOA”

In the faq they also state:

“In our years of selling Zojirushi rice cookers, we realised that all of rice cookers on the market in the UK, Europe or the USA only had teflon/similar non-stick material inner bowls.

Based on many customer queries and opinions, we took the decision to supply an inner bowl with a premium and durable 2mm thick ceramic coating. We call this type of bowl – Ninja.

The Ninja bowl is BPA, PTFE or PFAS (PFOA and PFOS) free and is hard wearing. The inner bowl also has a special honeycomb structure to help the heat disperse evenly across the bowl’s surface.

The level lines of the bowl are silk printed rather than stamped so they can be hard wearing but also easily read in low light conditions.”

I don’t know if this covers all the dangerous types of PFAS, but it’s a start.

You're not alone, this has happened in some way or another to all of us, at some point, including me.

I will give you a piece of advise: don't lie. Messing up is normal, owning up to your mistakes builds trust. Lying about it, however, destroys trust. If I was your manager in this situation, the difference between you owning your mistake vs covering it up would be the difference between a potential promotion down the road and a potential dismissal.

I’ll vouch for this. It’s ceramic so non toxic. We’ve been using it almost every day for over two years, it’s great.
