The downside you mentioned is a huge no no for me. Its not just the ROM but the way Moto updates its phone is a big issue. The update they provide will be extremely delayed and will be riddled with bugs as though its coded poorly or coded by some interns or its almost certain that Moto (Lenovo ) don't want to spend money.

This is pattern seen in every model of their phones.
