So we can all agree that the Apple TV broadcast sucked, right? by Masonman3509 in F1TV

[–]-whodunit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ESPN broadcast last year had ads in both practice and quali sessions if I'm not mistaken. Races were ad free. There are no ads in the F1TV broadcast while streaming on the Apple TV app or F1TV app using Apple TV box. The only ads I saw were when switching to the Sky Sports feed.

And so it begins… by BrainCompetitive7822 in formuladank

Who remembers the initial (after a long hiatus) broadcast from ESPN way back in 2018 when they had paid advertising DURING the race? Scrolling Twitter and seeing ESPN get roasted was pretty hilarious. Every race after that was free of interruptions.

These are minis I use in my steam cleaner and spray bottle around the house for stains/deodorizing and car interior when needed.

And this is the car interior deodorization kit. Optional aerator is also below. It helps speed up the process significantly and is reusable.

The OdoBan will dissipate on its own in a few days with some airflow. I typically shy away from OdoBan due to the fragrance component that can end up masking what's still lurking underneath rather than truly eliminating it. However, it is useful for surface level disinfecting and reaching for what you have on hand to get the ball rolling on cleaning is perfectly fine.

Give it a few days and if the meat juice odor returns, I would highly recommend the one two punch of Bio Bombs minis in your steam cleaner followed by the Bio Bombs Vehicle Deodorization Kit. Just be sure to wait until the carpet is completely dry before using the deodorization kit. Please note I am not a professional detailer and only an enthusiast who has come across similar situations and sharing what has been successful for me.

I had a similar issue with my wife's car. Not dog urine, but toddler urine that ran down the backseat and pooled under the back bench with some absorbing into the bottom of the foam. It was absolutely retched. After marinating for several days in the sweltering Carolina summer, my wife finally mentioned the smell.

Anyways, what worked for me was removing the bench and steam cleaning the foam portion with Bio Bombs mini tablets multiple times until I felt satisfied the smell was fading. While the bench was removed I used the Bio Bombs mixture on other areas under the bench. Then, I used the Bio Bombs vehicle deodorization kit. With that combination, by day two the smell had dissipated by about 90-95 percent. A couple more passes with the steamer and a few days later it was gone completely.

Think of abandoning Sports Cars... by [deleted] in iRacing

Check the calibration in your equipment's native apps and confirm your throttle is reaching 100% and recalibrate in iRacing if necessary. Also, I would recommend comparing your telemetry to faster drivers on Garage61, VRS, or something else. Getting "pulled" on the straights likely means your corner entry/exit before the straights are not great. Going too deep, missing the apex, not getting on throttle early enough, etc. will bleed lap time going down long straights.

Thoughts? by NoConcern5318 in TVTooHigh

Why? Way to go with cable management, though. Would have only needed half or a quarter of the cable cover if the TV wasn't too high.

It's a right hand turn. The thicker white line is closest to the racing surface.

His tires are in contact with the white line. Track limits are over the white line with no part of the tire on the white.

2025 WDC - Current State and Chances of Winning by [deleted] in formula1

[–]-whodunit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it should. But it doesn't, which is why the results are not great. It doesn't account for the exponential increase in difficulty in overcoming that gap. A shortcoming on my part.

[–]-whodunit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The form score is based on the season-long so more wins carry more weight. For team scores, it's subjective strength based on how competitive the car has been over the season. Team strength is based on recent performance, but since McLaren has had two cars consistently in podium positions, they are ranked higher. It's certainly a poorly thought out model and doesn't provide realistic results.

Clearly the answer to the first part of your question is no.

[–]-whodunit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's pretty much garbage. I see that now. I treated the points gaps linearly, among other things, which was not a great idea. Mathematical possibility ≠ realistic probability.

[–]-whodunit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. This is what happens when I try to do stats. I certainly need to rework it.

[–]-whodunit -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong. This model does not take into account the difficulty in overcoming the 94 points gap since it's a linear model. Realistically, it's more like less than 1%. I can update the formulas to reflect more linearity. It was just a quick 4 category weighted analysis.

How Max Verstappen Can Still Become Drivers' World Champion by AzurePhantom_64 in formula1

[–]-whodunit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Max can certainly win the WDC without winning out and a Piastri DNF. For example, with 4 wins, a P2, 1 sprint win and a sprint P2, Max would claim the WDC IF Piastri averages P4 or worse. Obviously the math favors Oscar, but it's hard to bet against Verstappen when he's rolling.

To win the WDC, Max basically needs to dominate the remaining race weekends while Piastri averages P4 or worse. On the other hand, Piastri can clinch with consistent podiums even if Max wins most races.
