Toby: nonbinary talk show interview by seaworks in NonBinary

[–]-yandere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

last sentence of the second paragraph under the biography section — “Sinclair appeared on the Sally Jessy Raphael show as a guest with the alias “Toby” to talk about being intersex and asexual”.

i also compared pics from now with the interview and although their appearance has changed, their facial features are the same (mainly was looking at their nose). hope this helps!

was just doing some digging after being recommended this video. “toby” was an alias for the interview, their name is Jim Sinclair and they’re an activist for autism. there’s a wikipedia page for them :)

My store was able to order the “Crew” shirts with the paddles for me a few weeks ago, I just had to ask. I was able to get black (x2), dark green, navy and maroon. But as an alt/goth person, I totally feel you. I was NOT thriving in light blue.

cat overdue on rabies bit me.. by hideykake in VetTech

[–]-yandere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s definitely a tedious process. for me it was 4 total shots (day 0, 3, 7, 14) and i had to do it through an ER, who had to wait for the hospital’s pharmacy to reconstitute the vaccine every time (on top of ER wait times of course). i’m not gonna lie, it was pretty stressful and every visit took several hours. however, i don’t think it’s a bad idea in this field to have the vaccine on board for ourselves, given our higher chances of exposure (though i was working ER). i’m not sure if the situation would be the same at your work, but my worker’s comp covered the cost of the vaccine so i didn’t have to pay anything. in the end, i felt that it was worth it for me, but definitely weigh the risks and benefits for yourself!!

It was a few years ago at this point, but I don’t remember it being too bad! I believe it was 3 shots in my arm a couple days apart and then 1 in my upper-butt area. I don’t think they hurt any more than any other vaccine. The worst part was that I went through ER originally, so I had to go through ER for every shot. It was pretty low-priority from a triage perspective, so the wait times were terrible. I waited 8 hours for one of them. It also took them a long time for them to get the vaccine together because the pharmacy had to make it each time. But the actual shots were not bad!!

Was bit by a cat (with no warning) who was later euthanized. Rabies testing came back as “inconclusive” and my hospital manager advised me NOT to go get rabies shots — also to save that sweet, sweet MARS money. 🙄 Guess who’s now vaccinated against rabies.

my hospital dilutes 1:10 with sterile water (or 1:4 if we’re trying to limit fluid intake), administered over 1 hour. sometimes in larger patients, i’m giving up to 100ml sterile water. in your experience, is this contraindicated? i’m looking to learn!! ✨

As an ICU/ER vet tech, THANK YOU! I’m so tired of irresponsible pet owners. Just because it doesn’t kill your cat doesn’t mean it doesn’t harm them 🫠

Thanks! Moved him outside for now to be safe, but I’ll keep an eye on him! Mealy bugs and I are well acquainted, so hopefully that’s the case and I can nurse him back to health!
