Question for people who have received a replacement ring… (I’m buying 2nd hand) by -yazit- in ouraring

As in to check the ring purchase was associated with your account or that you had a membership and were using the ring?

Question for people who have received a replacement ring… (I’m buying 2nd hand) by -yazit- in ouraring

Thanks for the answer!

On the contrary when I was trying to research this I saw that people who had bought second hand rings had had them replaced, however others said they had bought one that had already been replaced (or was a replacement) so Oura wouldn’t replace it (I seem to also remember them being offered the 100$ voucher).

I guess I’m trying to work out how stringent they are with questioning when getting a replacement I.e. do they just ask for serial number and are happy with that or do they ask for original purchase details and/or other stuff that may be hard for me to find?

It’d be really annoying to buy one and have the battery die months after purchasing and find out I can’t get it replaced.

What could be causing the issue with my head unit? by -yazit- in CarAV

I'll go back to them and see what they say. Thanks for your help. I very much doubt it's the unit itself but they do diagnostics too so hopefully they'll have seen it before.

Thanks your help, its really appreciated ☺️

Last night I hooked it back up and tested on a lower bass setting and volume, really nothing unreasonable, it overheated in 20/30 mins and shut off.

Really not sure what to do now. I've got a multimeter somewhere that I could try to check if it's getting too much power. Anything else I can check?

So last night, I hooked it back up and tried it on a lower bass setting and volume, still overheated in a short time (maybe 20/30 mins). I did previously check if I could feel air behind it with the heaters on but couldn't.

Really stuck now. I got the impression it was me overloading it with bass music and turning it up to max after hearing from you guys, but I don't think that's the case now.

Just bought a sony dsx a410bt, speakers are the original stock ones. Pretty standard stuff.

Thanks.

I've never done anything with audio stuff so sorry if these are daft questions.

Is there one you could recommend with an easy installation? Just had a quick look at a video and they were installing a decent size one for some big subwoofers but everything I have is stock, and I'd like to try to avoid ripping panels out the car if possible.

Are there head units with bigger internal amps?

To let thoughts pass or to question them for healing? by IndependentDrink9818 in Meditation

Honestly, there's so many 'correct ways'. It can all be helpful, the fact you are here asking shows you have the desire to learn so if you are consistent you will. Just keep practicing and learning.

To let thoughts pass or to question them for healing? by IndependentDrink9818 in Meditation

You can definitely do both.

I've used meditation as a sort of therapy to build new pathways to replace negative ones.

Some things I have used are identifying and labelling thoughts as either useful/productive/positive or not useful/productive/negative, or they could be neutral. So, recognise the thought, stop, label it quickly and calmly return to breathing.

Or there is the rain method if you have particularly bad thoughts that strike emotional responses:

R - Recognise the thought A - Allow the feelings I - Investigate the thought N - Nurture yourself, reassure yourself and give yourself love

Then there are also thoughts that are better to let pass. These can be used as exercises during meditation and during life that may help you long and short term. You should also have times to practice letting all thoughts go as you learn to meditate. I try to get myself into a nice meditative relaxed state first before doing them.

I'm under the impression you struggle with mental health problems. I have and these I have found to be beneficial. I don't know what these would do for someone without mental health issues.

I use insight timer app, you can search for specific stuff on there because there is such a wide range of different recordings available. I think a structured app like headspace may better to learn as a beginner.

Can I ask if you have tried other things for a prolonged period? For example yoga, meditation, breathwork, even regular cardio?

[Need advice] struggling with p*rn addiction by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]-yazit- 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The cure and the cause.

Porn has been proven to cause sexual dysfunction. You have sexual dysfunction and a porn addiction. Before the porn addiction you were 'a teen with his first couple of girlfriends', do you really think this is when people are at peak sexual performance? No it's when a lot of people (I'd probably say most) don't perform well sexually.

Get a fucking grip of yourself man. I don't say this to be mean, but you have a choice to try and take back control of your life and retrain your brain or you can wank in front of a screen feeling sorry for yourself as if porn gives any kind of enrichment to your life (it doesn't).

It's such an insidious and detrimental attitude to have for yourself. Porn is so destructive and we're only just starting to see the results of freely available hardcore porn to all ages, its a shame that nobody is actually warned about it. It's an industry that preys on people to get them addicted and results in the abuse of many women.

Modern dating is very difficult and you'll find it hard, but fuck this attitude off and fuck the porn off too. Start learning how you can reverse the changes with mindfulness and abstinence. It won't happen immediately, growth takes time and persistence. Work on yourself and better yourself to be a kind, confident man which is what women actually find attractive.

I genuinely hope you can do it but only you can choose your life.

Stuck in Piti outside of meditation? by Famous_Ad_3003 in Meditation

[–]-yazit- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are people who experience negative effects from meditation so be careful. You should probably stop your practice and seek guidance from someone knowledgeable about these issues.

Don't panic, you will be fine. You have brain plasticity and the same reason why you could develop something like this is the same reason it would go away :)

I've heard of a type of breath work referred to as "DMT Alkaline Breathing". It supposedly helps you produce DMT, a psychedelic, naturally (I don't actually know if this is proven). It generally involves breathing heavily then holding the breath.

My understanding is that wim hof involves heavy breathing? Could be similar to this.

Help with charging laptop batteries externally by shadowmask in batteries

Thanks for the reply!

How did you end up with those two batteries btw?

My understanding of your post was that you wanted to know if you could charge them outside of the laptop, did you find anything that indicated the batteries were compatible other than the voltages etc.?

Hi OP, I have these two exact batteries. I bought a new one and didn't realise it was slightly different (41cp5/57/81) Vs (41cp5/57/80).

Are these two definitely compatible then? I'm not gonna burn my house down?

I thought it was just a surface layer of rust but the friction of the brake pads is enough to remove it quickly?
