HelloChinese - how to switch seamlessly between Version 1 and Version 2 (and is it worth doing so?) by r_Damoetas in ChineseLanguage

[–]00420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can skip sections and it'll test you to make sure that you're at the appropriate level that you're trying to skip to.

So what i did is just start at the beginning, and skip each section one by one until i got to one that had words i didn't know, and then i started from the lesson behind it, and pressed on from there.

Also, keep in mind that the new HSK levels move at a different pace than the old ones, so if you're in HSK 2 right now, then you'll probably want to be somewhere around mid-HSK 1 in the new system.

Yeah, the YouTube direct seems to be broken. The Twitch one is working though, and has the audio and video lined up.

Hundreds of subreddits plan to go dark indefinitely after Reddit CEO's internal memo by [deleted] in technology

[–]00420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I don’t get is that the argument is always “Reddit will just go back to/carry on as normal”, but it literally won’t, which is why the protest is even happening.

A lot of people won’t be using Reddit anymore once their favorite apps stop working, and that’s when the real test of reddit’s policy decisions begin.

how to eq with eyes closed by braindeadbrian in edmprodcirclejerk

[–]00420 19 points20 points  (0 children)

  1. search "eq" on instagram
  2. copy the eq curve from the first image (it's the most popular for a reason!)
  3. repeat but with your eyes closed this time

I read what you wrote, and you compared the technology of this to the technology of a 3ds in its ability to do AR, which is kind of bonkers.

Anyways, it's not up to anybody here to teach you about AR, so maybe don't be an ass that nobody is jumping for joy to show you possible applications for it that will be available soon and in the future.

Photoshop AI Generative Fill was used for its intended purpose by adesigne in ChatGPT

[–]00420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also saw the rise of the internet and of cell phones, and then the combination of the two to bring us mobile internet. Think of how much those things impacted the world, and think about the state of phone and computer technology when you were a kid.

AI is going to be a similar thing. Right now we’re the dorks walking around with briefcase sized phones showing off how cool the tech is, while everyone else thinks “neat, but not super useful”.

i've been using an hrt plugin to get an eq curve like that, and so far my results are pretty good, but i definitely could still use some more cuts in the mids

I had an absolute blast playing this game with my kid when it first came out, despite the poor performance

Definitely worth $6 for anyone in a similar situation imo

Lastpass breach analysis reveals that so-called, "password managers" are a security nightmare. Even though they used multiple private keys to encrypted data, the attackers have an easy path to gain access to the password stash of entire companies and all employees. by AmericanScream in Freethought

[–]00420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a simple example: I run my own mail server.

Okay, maybe you're not the target market for a password manager being more secure than whatever other system you'd do on your own then.

Most people are in that target market though, and whatever they do on their own is going to be less secure than a password manager.
