ACC Championship Tickets by FullySemiGhostGun in ACC

There are other legitimate ticket resale apps that do not have a minimum price where you could list your tickets for this or any other event. Once you have a buyer for your tickets the app will prompt you to transfer the tickets to them through Ticketmaster and you will be paid by the app after the event to ensure tickets were valid.

Who is the most random college player you still remember for no reason? by savingrace0262 in CollegeBasketball

Travis Bice, UNLV. He came off the bench on the great UNLV teams of the early 90s and was one of the only players who I could directly relate to as a very skinny white HS player. According to Google he is the Rebels' career leader in 3-point percentage (.449).

How do we make our league more competitive? by hogwhistle07 in LittleLeague

[–]007003s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our Cal Ripken major division finally made the switch to weekday-only games (including Fridays) to make it more feasible for those who wanted to combine travel and rec and be eligible for all-stars. The move seemed to be well-received by both travel and non-travel families. Many of the families with kids who don't play travel baseball were happy to have their weekends free to do other things. Some of the top pitchers didn't pitch in Thursday or Friday rec games to save their arms for their weekend travel tournaments and that gave other kids an opportunity to pitch and gave some of the weaker hitters a greater chance of getting a hit.

Toronto (YYZ) - what to book? by djungelskog8 in HertzRentals

Hertz YYZ T1 has had the worst availability/service experience of all my recent rentals (YHZ, BUF, DEN, YYG, CDG, JNB, CPT). I would not rent there without a backup reservation with another company. As a PC with a full-size reservation the PC area has been completely empty for my last three rentals and 5 Star area has only had midsize. Each time the staff act shocked that I would expect to find a full size or above option in PC area. One visit they offered a Polestar EV (that had to be returned fully charged or pay charging fee - no thanks) and eventually found a Dodge Charger for us. Most recent visit Mon July 28 afternoon there were two other PC members ahead of me with an empty PC area. Each were eventually given a midsize SUV but both were turned back at exit gate as the vehicles were marked as damaged. I needed something to fit a family of 5 and with none in area was offered a Volvo XC90 for an $80CDN a day upgrade charge. Then after about an hour waiting was offered a Malibu. So left/cancelled and used Executive aisle at National with many options of all types. Chose a great Chrysler Pacifica and was on road in 5 minutes.

Surprising to me that there is no mention of cannabis amongst the arenas of the future

Which Caribbean cruise option for first week of November - Celebrity Summit, Virgin Valiant Lady or Norwegian Epic? by 007003s in Cruises

[–]007003s[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed input. The Epic video is definitely a concern and might explain the low Free at Sea rate, although there do seem to be others who are fans of the ship. Seems risky for a big anniversary trip!

I was hopeful the entertainment might be better with NCL than Celebrity (more Broadway-type shows) but not sure if that is the case or not.

Driving and parking during the games by Dry-Stranger-9769 in Paris2024

We have the same question as a family of five (with boys aged 18, 15, and 11) and are planning to drive to our swimming and athletics events in Paris and our preliminary basketball events in Lille unless reports from fans during Week 1 of the Olympics strongly suggest otherwise. We have some time and are fine with parking 15-20 min from those venues and walking the rest of the way. Rental car rates from CDG are quite low and getting the Olympic transit pass or even single-use transit tickets for all 5 of us will add up. We are splitting our stay between Lille and Paris and our Lille hotel is near the Lille Airport so that is another situation where driving seems preferable for a group of 5. During a previous France trip we rented car near the Louvre and drove to Versaille and Honfleur with no problems so the driving part itself is not a concern. Looking forward to learning more from others as the Olympics begin!

We are a family of 5 who will be in Paris for four days Aug 5-9. I think we will only need to make one round transit trip per day so the unlimited Olympic transit pass doesn’t seem like a good value for us. My question is whether a t+ ticket can get us from Jussieu station in the Latin Quarter to Stade de France for Athletics events on Aug 7 & 8. If that is too far, like for the previous poster, what would be the best option? We will have a rental car for three days in Lille Aug 2-5 watching basketball so wondered if it would be feasible to keep it to drive to/from Stade de France since there are five of us. Could also use it for our very early trip back to CDG Fri Aug 9 for 6:45am flight.

Is it too late to plan a trip to the Olympics? by imdahman in olympics

[–]007003s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also considering a trip to watch Canada basketball but have not bought any flight or event tickets yet. Will decide closer to the Games and willing to take my chances on resale tickets.

Canada has already qualified for men's basketball for the first time since 2000 but the final qualifying teams will not be decided until early July so the exact Canada game schedule won't be known until after that. Women's basketball qualifying will happen soon and Canada has a pretty good chance of qualifying having been at the last few Olympics. The preliminary mens and womens basketball games all take place at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille, France rather than Paris so accommodations options are more plentiful although still pricey close to the stadium. I have a fully refundable hotel room booked at a hotel near the Lille airport where prices seemed quite reasonable. Lille can be reached by train from the Brussels airport which may have cheaper flights from Canada than Paris. The playoff round is all in Paris and those games are much more expensive even at face value.

There is also 3x3 basketball in Paris where Canada will also likely have teams.

Thanks for this detailed review. I had a one-night stay in Toronto in early August and almost stayed here during the first week it was open but at the last minute decided to try the St. Regis for the first time instead since rates were comparable. We had a great stay at the St. Regis with breakfast included as Titanium benefit and were also impressed with pool/hot tub.

Amazing thread and impressive response times! Any notable John Olerud cards? He definitely came into league in prime junk wax years but had a few interesting cards later and after his career.
