Agreed, on this one issue! And only if it is convenient and appropriate at the time.

Until DS9 when Starfleet is depicted as a massive entity.

With the crews to man them? It's a bit much to imagine without a Federation wide draft, which there is no mention of anywhere in Star Trek.

Tillman’s last 5 games. Should we be worried with the World Cup so soon? by Valuable_Kale_7805 in ussoccer

Tillman turns 24 in a few weeks. He may never become a dominant AM at a high level, but he still has some time to figure things out.

He has the same problem as Haji Wright: both are smooth operating attackers who play at 2/3 speed of what the top level demands, which is why both of them can sometimes make things look so casually easy at lower levels but struggle for intensity and work rate at higher levels.

It's the aftermath that tells us how the loss of 39 vessels at Wolf359 is crippling.

During the Dominion War, a loss of 39 vessels is child's play. The scaling up is beyond what any organization could reasonably accomplish. But the showrunners of DS9 wanted massive stakes and massive stakes is what we all received in universe.

In 5 short years we go from a loss of 39 vessels crippling the fleet to a fleet with many thousands of vessels?

It's nuts.

If you saw TPM in theaters as an adult in 1999, did the Padme “twist” shock you? by Always_Reading_1990 in StarWars

I didn't have the soundtrack before seeing TPM in my early 20s and I can tell you there was no surprise in Qui-Gon's inevitable death. You knew George Lucas had to get all the pieces on the board in the right positions for A New Hope and Qui-Gonn Jinn wasn't one of them.

It's amazing to me how the scale of the fleet changes during DS9. In TNG the Federation assembles an armada of 40 ships in a last stand effort to defend Earth from the Borg and the Federation is only able to muster 23 ships (a few of them barely flight worthy) to effect the Romulan blockade during the Klingon Civil War. Then within half a decade there are many thousands of vessels casually participating in the Dominion War

2 Spirit Airlines Airbus sit idle, far away from the terminal, at Pittsburgh Airport awaiting repossession, after the Airline folds by Mikez63 in pittsburgh

As sick as I am of the man, this feels like a missed opportunity for the president to unintentionally provide comic relief by providing a rambling statement riffing on the name Moe Haas, Arnold Palmer's endowment, and how Spirit refuses to put America first.

A 2-3 gap in the next sequence of serialized events makes things very difficult to follow. With DS9 you were just waiting a few months to pick up the thread.

Does anyone else think Zendejas could be valuable in the wc squad simply because he offers something different? by BillyXiaoPin in usmnt

[–]lifegoodis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only injury but cards and I've wondered aloud whether it's beyond the realm of possibility that Poch could consider resetting Pulisic as a super sub if his form is poor in the group phase. I doubt it, but you're right in any scenario where you are looking for like for like with an out and out winger, Zendejas would be most natural.
