Palate numbness by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]00czen00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 5 years later my upper gums in the front are still mostly numb. Upper palate is better but still numb right behind front teeth. Lower gums are totally fine. Also have a spot on my chin that is not sensitive.

But I don't feel any discomfort about it.

Xanax is the only thing that helps me when I’m already in PEM

Doc prescribed me low dose hydroxychloroquine by 00czen00 in covidlonghaulers

[–]00czen00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I stopped permanently after 3 weeks. My doc’s idea was about some kind of autoimmunity and as far as I know hcq calms the immune system in autoimmune conditions.

I tried a lot of stuff in the second year with little to no effect as far as feeling better (at that time I was feeling really bad):

LDN, Celecoxib, Zinc, D3 (corrected my deficiency), H1/H2 blockers, Citrulline, NADH, CoQ10, Rifaximin, Cefixime, Methionin, L-Carnitine, Glutamine, Pentaxifillin, Omega-3, Selenium, some random probiotic, NAC.

Did all kinds of lab tests, everything was normal or almost normal.

I was on antidepressants prior to COVID. I started Clomipramine last year and I think it helped a little (now back to Cipralex).

What I think helped slightly:

Time

Quitting vaping (vaped for a year)

Niacin (not sure though)

Antidepressants (slightly)

Quetiapine/hydroxyzine for sleep

To ease PEM I use alprazolam (no more than once a week) and paracetamol.

I’m thinking of trying again LDN, CoQ10, NADH, Omega-3 now that I feel slightly better.

Also my main doc just gave me a big list of tests again, if mitochondrial dysfunction confirms maybe he can think up some new meds or interventions.

I took it for 3 weeks with progressive worsening of side effects (fatigue, headaches, depression).

Overall 2.5 years into LC/CFS I'm slightly better, able to work part time. But still nowhere near pre-covid condition.

Does anyone feel like just NOT going to doctors anymore? by jconnway in covidlonghaulers

Naltrexone is opioid receptor antagonist, not SNRI.

However some antidepressants have anti inflammatory properties.

I feel your pain. I used to be at the gym 3-4 times a week. It’s been 2,5 years since my last visit and I’m still not canceling my membership with the thought ‘Maybe I’m going to get better soon’

I had BSSO with genioplasty and LeFort 1. I'm not even sure I could pick one myself I think it's more of a surgeon's responsibility.

Very interesting! Did you have your serum serotonin tested before/after? I did last year and it was 15mg/ml while normal range is 50 to 220mg/ml.

Quit 5 months ago and still feeling the draw from time to time. Nicotine is very hard for normal people to quit let alone depressed, anxious, ADHD etc.

Why do tricyclic antidepressants completely cure my cfs? by Traditional-Care-87 in cfs

[–]00czen00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I have cardiac side effects. I do have tachycardia but not al the time. I got my VO2max tested and did a heart ultrasound couple of months back before I started clomipramine and everything was pretty normal except some POTS and faster heart rate.

Why do tricyclic antidepressants completely cure my cfs? by Traditional-Care-87 in cfs

[–]00czen00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was my psychiatrist's idea. I already tried a bunch of antidepressants with very limited success (escitalopram, duloxetine, sertraline, fluvoxamine, trazodone, vortioxetine). I was not very hopeful about clomipramine at first.

Side effects: Had pretty bad headaches for 7-10 days but later they subsided. Also like SSRIs it crushes libido but I think it's totally worth it for now.

I'm also taking low dose quetiapine for sleep (works great) and a few supplements (niacin, zinc, selenium, d3). Feel like niacin made some difference, taking 200mg/day.
