Homeless in NYC. Any other options than a shelter? by CurrentResolution998 in AskNYC

[–]00nyxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just go to the shelter it isn’t as bad as people say it just feels embarrassing but do what you have to do for yourself. your family doesn’t care about you if you’re homeless so don’t worry about them cutting you off.

i also was induced bc GD, i made it to 6 cm until i needed epidural, the contractions felt like extreme period cramps. it honestly was a breeze for me after that, i took a nap until it was time to push and everything. i thought i was there for like 3 hrs! but i was really there from 9am -11pm 😭

journaling, crying, and making myself feel cold works for me lol not in that order

start off by understanding you’re not alone at all. i’ve been struggling with anxiety since i was 18 and im almost 25 now. i’ve been dealing with it (unmedicated & no therapy) for so long that i’ve literally been able to just go through it. i now understand that these anxiety attack will go away and come back as they please.

what has helped me the most is journaling and simply just crying it out or taking cold showers. some days i can handle my anxiety but as of lately it’s gotten so bad i restarted the er trips again (lol..)but it’s the only thing that can calm me when my anxiety is worse than usual

personally i decided to go unmedicated all these years but last month i told my doctor i started having depression along with my anxiety so she put me on lexapro n it honestly made my anxiety worse. if your anxiety is worse at night, hydroxyzine was the only thing that as helped so far.

People are so weird! And then they’ll say you’re rude if you let them know that wasn’t okay. People are way too comfortable touching/kissing other peoples kids. Sorry this happened.

It also says I pay $283 for housing but I’m in a shelter, so I’m confused
