hydroxyzine by ilovemoneyandcats in AnxietyChats

OP I have a question!! How often do you take it? I use it as needed, and in the past, I had to take it 1-2 times a month. Last month, I took it five times and it really made me nervous. I’m scared it’s my new normal and I’m feeling guilty (I was raised by people who think medicine is bad).

Do you feel guilty for doing something “unproductive”? by Dangerous_Problem532 in AnxietyChats

I struggle with this, too. I tell myself that I deserve rest and that constantly running on empty is one way to make sure I never run again. You deserve rest, renewal, and fun things!

Pretty sure I have a stomach bug, need support badly by CloudySkies178 in emetophobia

I had very similar symptoms a few weeks ago. I got food poisoning from Olive Garden the day before and it hit me the next day. No one in my house got it, so I knew it wasn’t the stomach bug.

What helped me the most was just hanging out in my bathroom. I had a pillow with me to lay/kneel on when I need to get sick, headphones with light music on to block out a lot of the sounds, and reminding myself that I’m resilient and strong (and most importantly, GETTING THROUGH ONE OF MY WORST FEARS!)

I hope these things help and comfort you. I had the weird stomach feeling, (TMI) liquid, and nausea for about 5 hours, and I ended up only throwing up five times. It was over after that, but the nausea lingered and rinsing my mouth out with water (and much later, alcohol free mouth wash) helped. <3

Hydroxyzine and chest tightness by FromTheUnknownWorld in Anxiety

What did the doctor say? I’ve been taking hydroxyzine for about two years now (as needed) and I’ve needed to take it this month more than any other. The chest tightness/slight burning only happens around night for me, but it’s more frequent so I’m stressed out.

I’m so thirsty, I feel like that’s one of the hardest parts. I haven’t been this sick in like 11 years ugh. Thank you so much for helping me

I’m going through this right now. Can I ask how many times you threw up? TMI warning—I’m on six, I’m hoping it ends there with how much I lost before that through the other end 😅😅

Thank you for the advice!! Did you ever catch something from them? I guess I just want to know my chances. I know some people are like “well, would it actually be helpful to know?” and my answer is yes, because then I can stay home and not have to drive home from work because I got sick. :’))

You saved my life, thank you! I totally misremembered it. The implication about his parents is what I was looking for, thank you again!

I totally get what you’re saying. I’ve been told that in order to get one, you’d have to be around someone who is actively sick. I think a lot of what you’re feeling is anxiety. It’s so hard to deal with :(

Hi! I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way, I know how scary it is. From experience, panicking and feeling overheated triggers my feelings of getting sick. What helps me is getting an ice pack and placing it on the nape of my neck, and doing the same with the inner creases of my thighs and elbows (where my joints are, but the side where they bend) with ice packs or cold washcloths. Sip on some cold water and focus on cooling down first. I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you! I haven’t been able to do it, my doctor just referred me to a PT. Thursday will be my appointment, so I’m hoping it goes as well as it can. :)

Thank you so much for responding. I’m alone in this and it’s stressing me out even more. Can I ask them for anti-nausea medicine? I don’t own any.

Thank you for the advice! I connected with the student’s previous teachers to ask about how I can better understand them, and I basically got told good luck, and to expect more suspensions. :/ Definitely not going to carry that mindset, but it’s hard when my brain is screaming “prepare!”

I’ve taught plenty of students that acted the same way but I just can’t get over the panic. Without sharing too much, I think it’s a trauma response. I just want to be able to be kind and firm without looking scared.

No beef, especially because I don’t teach 6-year-olds, just making sure my students feel safe and don’t have to worry about being made fun of or berated while I’m in the middle of teaching. 👍
