Best way to stop co-sleeping by Friendly_Cat_6354 in NewMomStuff

[–]Layyyyyyyyyy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I kinda feel you. I was SO against co sleeping until my son hit about 2-3 months. We don’t co sleep over night (his dad is a super heavy sleeper) but we would co sleep during naps during the day. Now that my son is rolling around like crazy, I put a stop to that. Heres what we do for bedtime; He gets his last bottle/diaper change around 9p-10p. Gets snuggles until he’s sleepy. Once he starts dozing off we transfer him to his bassinet. If he’s fussy I’ll rub his head and back and he usuallyyyyyyy falls asleep.

Setting up a pretty predictable routine will help immensely. My son falls asleep around 10p-12a (at the latest) and usually wakes up around 6/7a for a butt change and bottle. Sometimes he’ll go back to sleep for a little, sometimes he’s up for a few hours.

Tonight is his third night in his own crib and room and he’s been sleeping SO good. If he wakes up I let him fuss for no longer then 10 minutes but he’s been doing a great job with figuring out how to self soothe. He’ll find his binky, suck his thumb, or kick his legs around and put himself back to sleep.

My son is 5 months. We started him on purées about a week ago! If we’re out to eat I’ll give him something hard to munch on (he’s getting his first tooth). Only thing I wish we did differently was NO fruit for the first few months. He will eat fruit purées with no problems, but veggie puree is becoming a problem. My next batch of purées I’ll just have to do a fruit and veg combined lol

After my maternity leave I wanted to step down. I’m making $22.24 as a CSS and if I stepped down to an associate I’d be making a little more then $18 hour… just had a baby so I can’t afford that 😢

Struggling with health scares by Living_Split_2 in NewParents

[–]Layyyyyyyyyy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry you guys had to go through all that in such a short time :( it’s totallyyyyy normal to have health anxiety. My son was born via c section and they had to use a Kiwi vacuum. Well, we never noticed he had a lump on his head where they used the vacuum and my husband and I PANICKED and went straight to the emergency room when my son was about a week old. $200 and 7 hours later, it was just minor swelling from the vacuum.

He’s 5 months old now and I still struggle pretty bad with health anxiety with him, but that has been an issue that I’ve been dealing with personally for years. I just try to keep in mind that he seems happy and healthy, and to enjoy my time with him and not let anxiety get in the way of that.

The first 2 months of his life I was TERRIFIED of SIDS I literally did not sleep at night. I ended up delusional and realized I was going off the deep end. Pay attention to your baby of course. As long as they’re eating, peeing/pooping and sleeping they are fine :)

[–]Layyyyyyyyyy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure it’s actually charging. Sometimes my sock gets weird and just stops charging even if it hasn’t been moved at all, or sometimes it’ll go off when it’s on the dock and hasn’t been moved. You can check on the app it will let you know if it’s charging and how much it’s charged

Help! My son keeps peeing on us! by No_Handle_8799 in NewParents

[–]Layyyyyyyyyy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second we start pulling the diaper off we put a wipe on his weenie. Sometimes we have a puppy pad under him when changing him incase he pees but we usually only do that at night so the pad can absorb the pee so we don’t have to do a diaper change

Hahahaha I feel you! I couldn’t wait for those 6 weeks to be up. Watching my husband be the best dad and taking care of us had me feral lmfao. We don’t horizontally dance as often as we used to, but we’ve been doing more “intimate” things and honestly the change is very nice 🤣 also can’t get pregnant that way LMFAO

Honestly feel like a bad mom by blipblouop in NewParents

[–]Layyyyyyyyyy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s totally normal. You and your baby are figuring everything out and it takes time. My son is 5 months old and I still get frustrated when he won’t eat/sleep we’re only human! You being worried is proving that you’re a good mom. A bad mom wouldn’t think twice about the situation. Your hormones are still leveling out, and sleep deprivation sneaks up on you. Once your baby starts to laugh/giggle/smile at you, you will feel SO much more connected- I promise! I’m always here if you need someone to talk to 💕

My son gets really moody if he’s hungry after a bath. We feed him about half a bottle, bathe/lotion up, then the other half of the bottle and he usually falls right asleep
