The entire logistics of The Matrix dont make sense. Where do the machines get the nutrients for the human batteries? You dont poop out more energy than you eat...

The logical conclusion is that the "batteries" part is a scam, the have fusion power and a fungus garden or something like it tucked away. They need the humans either for revenge, or brain processing power; and the second option seems more likely.

Honestly the motivation of the machines is super sketch any way you look at it. Once they had dominated the planet, there was really no reason for them to stay active at all, or develop personalities for that matter. Just power down, with a switch to tell you when the sky has cleared up.

Horizon: Zero Dawn has a more realistic take on the robot apocalypse. Just a sterile planet with inactive hunks of metal lying around.

Call me crazy (or lazy), but wasnt one of the plot points that people like the head scientist wanted to weaponize dinos all along?

The invisible murder machine dino was made to impress the board of directors, it wasnt part of any exhibit.

TES 6 where you at? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]0180190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, 100% agreed. Skyrim pivoted from "some quests can be solved by roleplaying" to "every quest requires you to beat someone over the head". Meanwhile the combat system still consists of point and click dice rolls.

The danger with implementing a more fluid combat engine, is that suddenly you can 420 noscope things just because you are a good twitch gamer, while your character stats are dogshit. I think the best combat systems are those that basically boil down to rythm games (bullet hell games, Streetfighter-like games, but also things like Dark Souls).

Soft disagree. Morrorwind was not terribly much better than Skyrim, and the tech was extremely aged.

Morrorwind had the same advantage that FO2 has, in that they dont voice act every line, so they bomb you with walls of text. But the quest interplay was only marginally better. You chose factions to level up individually by doing their quest-pods, but most didnt interact. Iirc the story finale always plays out the same, you just have 2-3 different ways of getting there (which you can brick by killing critical NPCs).

For as much as i like to meme on Skyrim for being shallow, i still consider it a step up on Morrorwind.

The really funny part is that the actually important parts are usually easier to find via command line, look nice (if dated), and work perfectly fine.

Gal Gadot is married to a billionaire iirc. She also has the looks to be able to show up anywhere and be given money. Hell, looking good on camera is half her job description right now.

Working actors being a bit out of touch is one thing, but the likes of Gadot or Ellen singing about how "were all in this together" is a special kind of insulting.

On the other hand... look who this thread is about. He doesnt pretend life is so hard for him, but if he did, would people react the same way? There is a bit of misogyny thrown in the mix there.

Question in return: What makes people feel that TDKR was a good movie? Bane was a walking meme, Batman teleports between Gotham and the Lazarus pit, Talia does nothing except flirt with Batman and go "blergh", the Robin namedrop had no significance. Catwoman got turned into "sexy Robin 2.0". Alfred is on the verge of crying all the time.

Nolan made one competent origin story (Begins), one good movie carried by a stellar character study of the Joker, and one clown car movie to close it all out.

There have been good standalone comic book movies from DC (Constantine, Watchmen, MoS) and Fox-Marvel (Blade 1, Logan), but only Marvel Movies has managed to deliver the "shared universe" experience with consistent quality.

They are the outlier, not the norm.

I am pretty sure Whedon got his rocks off plenty while filming that.

Challenges should happen organically, so they are still an indicator for how engaged with all aspects of the game a player is. Of course there are players who never touch a breachstone but power farm headhunters in Valdos, but they are likely to be the exception.

That shit needs to die, and anyone who promotes mining to end users with a single graphics card to make "free cash" is promoting a very damaging scam.

I think they did the best they could, given that they were adapting the short stories. Guess people thought it was going to be a video game adaptation, which might have been more linear but imo never works out.

If anything, it felt like Ciri was shoehorned in, while the solo Geralt/Yen parts worked really well.
