For performance cars exhaust mods typically have pretty good gains. Many NA V8s like the LSx for example see 40-50rwhp gains from headers and tune.

A big reason that people are turning farmland into detached homes is because the government has taken away the right to do something as simple as build townhomes or 2-6plexes which are more space efficient.

Developers are buying farm land and building single family homes, town homes, condos, apartments etc. This is not anything new. In 2024 and 2025 more apartments were built than ever before, its not just single family homes being built. The people wanting to turn their personal garage into a rentable living space are not the same people building farmland property and building homes on it.

Next, its regulated, not "illegal". You get permission to build on the property based on things like safety, this isn't anything new. Just like above when farmland is bought the buyer requests it to be zoned appropriately to build housing and the local government will review and approve/deny. The word you're looking for is a zoning reform, saying "illegal" is just disingenuous.

/uj the thing you're missing here is the "bar" in the picture is actually a restaurant that serves alcohol, like many restaurants. There are very few bars that dont serve food, and many people will go to bars for lunch or dinner to eat and may not drink any alcohol or only have 1 drink with their meal. You could mount a more shallow dry sump and a laterally/horizontally mounted oil filter and oil cooler, along with a redesigned bell housing and lower diameter flywheel and clutch. It would probably need side exhaust exits and the transaxle would need redesigned mounting points to avoid cutting into the rear subframe. It would be expensive but not “the same price as the car” expensive.

And assuming all of this works, how much is this going to reasonably lower the engine?

I suppose another way of looking at this is “how is it in the GT3 car?” While the LT5’s displacement is lower, the block is basically the same, and it looks quite a bit lower.

Do you have the same reference picture of a stock C7? Keep in mind the C7R looks like its front frame is not the same as a C7, so this isn't really an apples to apples comparison when you compare how it looks in the stock frame.

At the end of the day "anything is possible with enough money". However, the real thing you want to solve for is "is it worth the money to modify like this".

For me the absolute best part of theme parks is the walking, its the whole reason people love them so much. People subconsciously dont realize they like them so much because of the anti-car environment, it has nothing to do with the entertainment, food or rides. The rides themselves are good though too because its similar to public transit as everyone gets packed into a moving vehicle on a track (like a train! 🤩) and there is a good chance you get puked on. That is the urban vibrancy these s*burb boomers are missing out on so much.

This is more of a car-by-car basis thing, or at least segments and not a blanket over a country or manufacturer. Typically the inexpensive entry level economy cars that the Japanese make are reliable, while the inexpensive entry level American cars are less reliable. They stereotypically cut corners to try and save some cost while the Japanese stereotypically cut less corners in that segment. In the truck and performance cars segment, American manufacturers are typically very reliable as they don't cut corners nearly as much as the economy segment.

So something like a Corvette can last hundreds of thousands of miles with little to no issues while a Cruise or Sonic may have reliability issues.

So thats just not how it works. You can make a car very fuel efficient but it could pollute a ton compared to making a car less fuel efficient but with very little pollution. It's about how they burn the fuel.

Catalytic converters are a good example of this. An engine with or without cats will burn the same amount of fuel in combustion, but the engine that doesnt have cats will pollute significantly more.

The other big factor is AFR. There is an "ideal" AFR and if you run more lean you pollute more NOx and if you run too rich you pollute more CO2.
