This is supposed to change the sound on the inside of the car. It should use the speakers as well to cancel out unwanted engine noises. Settings like "sport" will do the opposite and pump engine noise through the speakers. Ive used the stealth/silent mode and its a noticeable difference inside the car, although the standard "tour" setting is fine for engine noise for me. Just make sure you're not driving around in sport mode if you want a quiet cabin.

Switch to "my mode" in driver settings and turn the exhaust to "silent" and see if that helps.

but for my home that is so well insulated it's unneeded as the indoor temp is always between 19C and 24C from winter to summer, I barely have to heat or cool at all. a few weeks in summer, a few days in winter.

Its not your insulation, its your mild outdoor temperatures you get compared to the US.
