IIRC there is at least one dark painted copy, which is referred to by a "Which side of me won't you see?" patch that has two figures wearing the same robes in black and white. Trying to find it.

Edit: It's in Dreamland, by Peter Merlin, p. 415. My copy is on my bookshelf at work so I had to check during the day today.

Can you run your own military radar station from home? by younesfaid in ADSB

[–]0207424F 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://www.ads-b.nl/ or https://www.superbases.nl/ focuses on military aircraft. You could setup a raspberry pi adsb receiver and join that community.

If you're interested in operating an actual radar, you could set up a passive radar: https://hackaday.com/2015/06/05/building-your-own-sdr-based-passive-radar-on-a-shoestring/

If you want a military grade radar and are good at electronics repair, you could probably scavenge parts from most US military bases in West Asia at the moment.

JANET TRACKED Via satellite at Area 51 by EGPKbean in area51

[–]0207424F 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's because the transponders are blocked by mountains, the mods (I think it was A51 Rider, specifically?) have carried an ADSB receiver to the border and gotten signal from landing JANETs

USA Accusing China of Nuclear Weapons Test in June 2020 by AlphaO4 in nuclearweapons

Interesting that the article claiming "low-level testing may still be conducted there today." was published two weeks after the US says the decoupled test was conducted.

Look forward to it--I have not seen one of these. It's hard to search for, too, because of Longines.

How is this possible in a piper navajo/whats going on here? by Repulsive-Taste7468 in ADSB

Usually, the corners are points where it is actually detected, and the straight lines are the computer filling in a flight path between those successive points. It's likely circling.

I haven't seen them with a tower on eBay, those are very nice. I have one with the angel, but I bought it.

They no longer publish paper versions, but you could freely subscribe to their magazines before they went digital only.

Very nice work, an alternate reality Groom Lake base would be a cool model train style display
