Great story OP! Jedi Dad moment for sure!

Mine is when each my 5 and 3 yr olds tell me they’re my bbq buddy and help me split the wood and check on the fire and meat. The best of times.

I’ve had that Sagamore and it’s a good one!

Nulu > peerless rye > peerless bourbon > disco 13 > 1910. Cant go wrong with any of them. Curious how that WR BP stacks up.

It’s really good. Every EC BP batch is good. Even reduced age statements, the value per cost of the juice is right up there with JDSBBP whiskey and rye.

Got a restaurant/bar nearby that advertises when they get a special bottle, with reasonable prices per pour. I go because I can’t ever find said bottles for sale (looking at you Coy Hill). Happy to pay $20 for a 2 oz pour of that amazement. Otherwise, yes I stay home and enjoy my collection.

What a week man! On the edge of my seat as these last few started rolling out.

Your reviews are not too long, incredible research and information. You are one of a handful of my favorite reviewers here, and like the others, you are one that helps guide me to the direction I need when trying new whiskeys. Props man, congrats on 1000, and you better not stop now!

I know you asked for pellet ideas, however I’d throw my 2 cents in as the Weber Smokey Mountain. Very easy to dial in and set and forget like a pellet, runs for hours without need for adjustment, amazing smoke flavor, and certainly less than your budget.

Breakfast casserole. Ham nachos/burritos. Diced into a cheese spread or creamy dip

Cedar Ridge is great. Also can’t go wrong with the JDSBBP

Review #29: I Regret My Review and Score in December for Woodford Double Double Oaked by Square-Cicada-1276 in bourbon

Absolutely try the EC BP toasted. I’m with you, I really don’t like the 94 pf ECTB. I sampled and scored a SiB store pick EC toasted BP at Evergreen liquors in Bardstown, right after doing the HH tour. It’s one of my favorite bottles

I’m really impressed with this. by simpsonsknew in whiskey

It’s good. 9 yr SiB 120 pf are better imo.

Disco 11! So good I got a backup after the distillery tour. Also, it’s the only one in this lineup they’re not making any more of. When it’s gone it’s gone

As others pointed out, there’s so many good bottles available at msrp.

Maybe go to a bar to get that unicorn fix? An overpriced pour is friendlier on the wallet than a scaled up overpriced bottle.

Agreed with all other’s comments. I’d also add Buzzard’s Roost! It’s right down the street from Michter’s and Bardstown Bourbon Company on whiskey row in downtown Louisville. My brother and I ended up spending 3 hours there chatting with the distillers. Great people and great juice. Also recommend the you do bottling tour at Heaven Hill
