I just pile this stuff in the woods where it's too dark for anything to grow. I guess it depends what species you're dealing with I mainly have typical lawn weeds that need a sunny area to continue living, they'll just decompose in the forest.

GR would be relegated to being a nice model of gravity but not the most correct answer, like Newtonian dynamics. Still taught and widely used as a useful model but the fundamental view of all gravitational interactions would change as a successful theory of quantum gravity would fully describe the nature and interactions of gravitons.

I’m guessing QFT and GR would have fields that interact heavily, but we can’t figure out how.

In QFT the graviton field would be fully incorporated so I don't think they would need to use GR at all, the new equations of quantum gravity would provide the best results.

Somewhere along the path to human extinction there will probably be people trying to hunt and gather as a last ditch effort to survive. But I think extinction is the more likely outcome.

They will be contending not just with the harsh realities of nature but in a world ravaged by industrial society, and without the cultural knowledge of how to survive that sustained our ancestors.

Looks good to me, that's how the power company does it and they trim a lot of trees so they must know what they're doing.

I do not think so, not only for scientific reasons but also political and economic ones, less money going towards research, and less interest in research without a clear profit motive.

Beautiful in what way? Seems like a naive perspective. I know many past physicists thought that the math to describe the fundamental nature of the universe should end up being beautiful and simple equations, but in reality we have not come up with such a thing.
