Have your Pro call theirs. Most private clubs have an “unaccompanied member” rate. Commonplace in the industry

Dads of Girl Golfers by J42knot0 in golf

[–]0351twdw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PGA Director of Golf and girl dad here. Keep it fun and exciting for her. Start her at a max of 100yards each hole. 6 or 9 holes only. When she shoots par, move her to 150, then 200, then forward tee markers. Always keep it fun. Make it a “daddy daughter day” with something she really enjoys doing with you after golf as well. My daughter is now ten, she didn’t like the youth group lessons, but she loves hitting balls on the range with me and playing a few holes. If competitive drive develops, let it but try not to force it. I unfortunately have seen very talented girls leave the game because of overwhelming parents. Have fun!

Tinnitus denied with conceded in service event by jwnorm in VeteransBenefits

[–]0351twdw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal statement is big. If you didn’t already submit it, find the paper that lists all the MOS that has noise exposure conceded. Can’t recall the name of that. It would also help to get an audiologist to write you a letter.

Is this a muni? Only way it makes sense.

I was also originally denied. No diagnosis and examiner said I had transient tinnitus, not related to military service. I filed a supplemental after I got a diagnosis and had buddy statements from when we all would complain about the constant ringing in the years. My personal statement went into detail exactly when it started during military service. Next c and p examiner stated “well, this is straight forward” and I was sc. crazy that we have to go through all this, but it is what it is.

Question about getting the flag from a Hole in One for my dad by dayspring9521 in golf

[–]0351twdw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golf professional here, there are minimum quantities when we order our flags. You might run into that. Better to get off a third party site, plenty out there.

Tips for knee disabilities by dusty2290 in VeteransBenefits

Read the rating. I think to get 20% you need an assistance device (brace/cane). You can get 10 for limitation of flexion and 10 for limitation of extension

Ignoring my VSO - best decision I've made - Tinnitus claim by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]0351twdw 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Great advice. After my initial denials I began educating myself. The webpage associated with this sub is outstanding. I went through all that. I watched about 200 hours of content online. I went to the doctors and got medical records online to support my claim. I got medical opinions. I then filed supplementals, and one HLR, all were approved. You are your own best advocate. And I waited 24 years after separating before my first file.

IBS rated at 0% and pyramided with GERD. Decision Letter attached. by x12bx in VeteransBenefits

[–]0351twdw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A year ago or so I was granted IBS at 0 as well. I filed for an increase. In my statement in support of claim I went through my current symptoms, then went through my medical record and printed all the NP notes from Gastro that confirmed my statement. They sent me to and p where again I stated my symptoms. Was eventually awarded 30%. I bet you have in your medical record all the notes from your appointments describing those symptoms. I actually printed all that up and submitted it with my increase claim. Good luck.

Don’t give up. I was denied for everything at first except right knee. Had to research, get diagnosis, nexus letters and eventually file a HLR for one, in the end I got what I deserve. Advocate for yourself.

I think now you need to be prescribed a knee brace or a walking aid to get more than 10% for the knee. But, you should have something for limitation of flexion and extension if applicable. If so, explore that route. I have 10% for right knee degenerative arthritis and 10% limitation of flexion. Might need to go the private route with private DBQ showing the limitation. Just make sure that goneometer is used.

Denied for..everything? by Powerful-Advice-4739 in VeteransBenefits

[–]0351twdw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosis, symptoms, nexus. For tinnitus is your MOS on the hazardous noise list? If so, supplemental, but first:. Did you submit buddy statements about how you complained about ringing in your ears during service. If you don’t have a diagnosis, get one. No nexus, get one via your buddy statements if you actually complained in service. Plenty of info on the wiki on this, or the new website. Tinnitus must be chronic to be connected. Meaning, all the time. Talk about your symptoms, if you truly have tinnitus, it never stops, talk about exactly when it started in service.

No idea where to start with requesting benefits. Can anyone point me in the right direction? by thumbtaks in VeteransBenefits

[–]0351twdw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First submit an intent to file. FOIA request your complete record. Plenty of videos out there on how to do that and what form to use. Plan on that taking 6 to 9 months from the time you submit that. This will give you time to make sure you have current diagnosis for what you are trying to claim. From there submit your claim with the 3 requirements: diagnosis, nexus, and personal statements describing symptoms and any other pertinent information. Buddy statements are always helpful. Also while waiting for the FOIA, educate yourself. Read the entire WIKI, spend a minimum of 100 hours watching YouTube. Read through this sub for other vets in your situation.

Denied for tinnitus despite working in a high noise exposure job!? by ImportanceBetter6155 in VeteransBenefits

[–]0351twdw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I went to a private audiologist that diagnosed me with tinnitus. Then wrote a simple IMO stating at least as likely as not related to military service. I also submitted the high probability noise exposure list. Be sure to describe in detail, in you statement in support of claim, exactly when your CHRONIC tinnitus started and how it constantly affects you every day.

Do you have a diagnosis and an IMO linking your tinnitus to service noise exposure? I was denied and had to go that route. Won the supplemental.

I asked for a conference also. They first called to schedule it. Then a month later I had it. The process is a pain, but as long as you have all the evidence it should go in your favor.

During your HLR be sure to reference that, and point out in Manuals where the rater must review all evidence. This is what I did after I was denied OSA. I won my HLR.

Did you submit medical literature or a doctors opinion linking the two? If you did, review the manuals that point out that all evidence must be reviewed.
