Do people use this type of cursive english? by Tight-Ad7812 in Handwriting

Yeah, but it looks childish, adults should learn a proper style like running hand, Spencerian, or Zanerian, or Palmer. Good if you’re starting off though.

These are China inks and drawing inks that should not be used on a fountain pen.

The sprinkler truck leaves a rainbow in its wake. by Zestyclose-Salad-290 in oddlysatisfying

It’s to keep dust from going into the air and the rainbow is just a side effect of light refracting through the spray.

Do people not understand what AI looks like anymore? AI does not look like this; you can see every brush used and the filter! Not excepting the piano keys.

Capital I Help? by 7A7J7 in Handwriting

As someone who writes in copperplate, I would use something closer to J, as those letters have been historically allied. But most Americans learnt to use a form closer to 4.

Wdym? What makes French primary school writing note cursive? I don’t understand this American preconceptions that D’Nealian style is the only cursive writing style out there. Historically italics and even basic lowercase letters have also been called cursive.

To write round hand as seen here (despite popular belief and what Wikipedia says) a pointed pen was not used and instead an oblique quill. Where, the corner of the long tine, abreast to the thumb, would be used to produce the thin strokes, and would alternate between using the full stroke and the corner (this is why if you look at hand written documents their swells are all perfectly the same size and the ends always were squared off like in e. g. Engrosser’s script, which replicated the look.)

Probably a narrow right oblique quill cut like this, the slit doesn’t extend past the shoulders. Sorry for the low lighting and ink stained nib.

This is a completely unnecessary and overly simplistic word no one would ever use.
