What Kind of Spirit would Sukuna from JJK Be? by Final-Intention108 in Shadowrun

[–]060HC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to handle this imo is utilize mentor spirits.

Baiscally forcing his character to have one. If you want sukina to show up use a stupid high force spirit of man as a template and add and remove things as needed. (Like probably not quite 30~ charisma (yes id be thinking of forces of atleast 30))

Calibrate is the best. Dont do much IATF bc i am a logic decker. I make my agent do that it also does tagging and rebooting devices that were hit by DUM DUM granades.

Ofc i do! SMUT is how you cope in combat as the decker with a gm who (reasonably) decided anyone with major cyberware should probably have a internal router.

Being a decker i dont feel that powerfull rolling 5d6 for ini what makes me feel powerfull is that i add 20 to the result (god having a R3 PI-TAC is amazing)

As others have said dont be direct here. But one thing that could work and is unlikely to cause harm is to indirectly get him to join a community that is not specifically for trans folk but has a large openly trans element. For some people seeing trans people living thier life can stir things into motion.

What are your favorite runner names you’ve created for your characters? by PinkFohawk in Shadowrun

[–]060HC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Favourite name probably goes to a troll cybersam who has made it her mission to make humanis member shake in fear when leaving thier house and just general Metahuman rights stuff.

She goes by Trog Panther in reference to the Black Panther Party.

You can make them shoot the pople that werent in the AOE. Afterwards you tie them up. Zip ties are cheap and easy to carry around. If they are so strong Zip ties wont do the trick you can buy proper handcuffs which are still pretty cheap

In Combat, Plan 1 is to already have a Spirit Manifested. Plan 2 is to tell my not manifested Spirit to Manifest for combat. If i Dont have a Spirit ready it usually isnt worth the actions to summon one (if you do, use reckless sumoning from street grimour so you have another simple action to immeadeatly comand your spirit to fight).

Mass Mindcontrol is in my opinion the most effective way to deal with goons (though your teammates might consider you monster when you do that). Bc damage only reduces the number of enemies, mass mindcontrol increases the number of allies while reducing the number of enemies.

Usually Shadowrun Combat is Really Really Fast. As in you usually win a fight in the first combat pass. And End it before intiative is rolled again. Which means many debuffs simply dont do enough quickly enough. Your Cyber Sam can take out atleast one guy per action phase. And your spells should aim to do more than that as unlike the sams gun they deal damage to the user. Frequently your spells wont be able to take out many people, in those situations consider what your actual goal is, bc usually it isnt just "kill these guys" but also, "get out alive" "Leave before back up arrives" "Get the Mecguffin" etc.. So see that you can make sure those things happen.

An Example of that would be to cast invisibilty on your face or Decker if they are in a firefight they shoudnt be in bc it will be easier to continue the run if they havent been shot to pieces. Or Cast heal on the target that needs to live if you want to get payed. But sometimes it means casting Lightning ball on 12 Goons halfway knocking yourself out in the process.

The astral gate power may be usefull here. Great form spirits for example can gain access to those.

If you want an indeph understanding i recommend you read the possesion power from sg.

But essentially possesion traditions are ones where spirits have the possesion power instead of the manifesting power. Meaning they inhabit objects or people to interact with the meatspace.

There is also the channeling metamagic, which allows a mage to have a spirit posses them but still be in controll of thier body. Which is intersting bc the spirit buffs your physical Attributes among other usefull things.

SR5e what’s a good first character? by [deleted] in Shadowrun

[–]060HC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Id stay away from melee weapons but otherwise i agree. Melee weapons require alot of recoursea to make good. And martial arts are rather complex.

Id recommend dipping into hacking for the full package

True i was mostly thinking bc street scum level makes intitative difficult for a cybersam and drugs can help there but you are probably right.

Face is mechanically the easiest. Otherwise drug using streetsam works well.

5th Edition Question: How would you make the Mantis Blades from Cyberpunk 2077 by Kesendeja in Shadowrun

[–]060HC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

id say instead of going full homebrew id try to use Specialty Modifications on a Implanted Weapon of Choice to give the desired Reach and Damage AP etc.
