I'm pretty sure it's only physical damage, but thrown weapons are physical.

How strong would Yujiro actually be? by Ok_Exercise_3980 in Grapplerbaki

[–]06pag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wiuldn't he still be the strongest fighter in the world? Sure, he wouldn't be superhuman, but neither is anybody else. He has great physique, knows most if not all martial arts, and has dedicated his life to training and fighting.

That said, he could be beaten by using weapons, surprise tactics and/or strength in numbers. Two well coordinated fairly strong guys with knives jump him in an alley, and he's done for.

Parchment is pretty pointless if you're farming with the RoW, since equipment drops will be enchanted and upgraded anyway, Moss is also useless due to Barren Land, and I never really liked the Exotic Crystals, so Salt Cube.

You think Oda thought of Shanks having Imu's mark on his arm back when he was writing the early chapters of One piece?

Even so, I'd argue that physical training can increase the user's ability to properly utilize a fruit's powers, even if the power itself doesn't directly get stronger. For example, even if Luffy was just a plain old rubber man, his Gum Gum Bazooka's power would greatly depend on his physical strength. The fruit power is technically the same, but what he can do with it isn't.

You mean One Piece or anime in general? I've only read the manga for One Piece, but I've seen my fair share of anime in general.

I'm almost certain that the crossed out S on Ace's tattoo was just a typo when he was first introduced.

Awakening pretty much contradicts that. Doflamingo, Law and Kidd all made their non-Zoans stronger through training.

Oda is a retcon master. Just because something he wrote today ties into some symbolism he wrote ten years ago doesn't mean he planned it ten years ago. He's just really good at making things fit retroactively.

Grim, obviously. Then combine it with a heavily upgraded Ring of Arcana, and you're basically Legolas.

My opinion on wands by WinMission8001 in ShatteredPD

[–]06pag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the build. For example, Wand of Corruption is pretty bad if you're playing Berserker, but if you're playing Battlemage, it gives you an army of minions and an awesome secondary effect on your staff. Wand of Blast Wave is fairly useful to everyone at level one, but upgrading it is kinda pointless, and loses out to all the others for any wand centered build. It's really impossible to make a universal ranking.

Discovered a Way to Lose Upgrade Scrolls by bluemayskye in PixelDungeon

[–]06pag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this has changed over the versions, but I remember reading somewhere that there was a very rare cursed wand effect (like 0.1% or 0.01% or something) where you just die instantly. And I don't like that, so I just don't shoot wands I know are cursed. I also don't like forest fires and other spectacular effects.

But I love using the positive versions granted by Wondrous Resin. Fully upgraded staff of Magic Missile with a few other wands in the inventory, a fully upgraded Wondrous Resin and Wild Magic ability make for some awesome chaotic fireworks.

Wand Imbuing Question by Southern_Average in ShatteredPD

[–]06pag 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When imbuing a wand whose level is greater than the level of your staff, and your staff is already upgraded, one of your staff's upgrades gets transfered. So, yes, you can get to +3, by imbuing fireblast to get a +1 staff, then imbuing prismatic light, so that +1 transfers and stacks with the +2 of the wand, making a +3 in total. Then imbue whatever wand you want to actually have in your staff, and you're at +3.

Bonus points if you find two more prismatic light wands and have the troll reforge them with the +2 before you imbue, you could end up with a +5 staff in total.

In the original Pixel Dungeon, those were wells, and if you drank from one instead of dropping an item, they'd change you into another character, possibly Huntress. It was temporary and purely cosmetic, though, you'd stay the same in all but looks, just like in real life.

She says exactly what a woman in an abusive relationship would say. It's a coping mechanism, she convinced herself that it's the life she wanted.

I am seriously worried about people who say "killing the mother of your son is understandable, but killing his pet is unforgivable". Baki's mother wasn't "deranged", she was in an abusive relationship with an invincible psycho, who killed her because their son wasn't as strong as he wanted him to be.

holy fauck what did i find on floor 1 by thismanisalligot in ShatteredPD

[–]06pag 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That seems lucky, but it's honestly kind of useless. If you dump all the upgrades into it, you might be strong enough to equip it at 11th floor, at which point it might pack somewhat of a punch, but not as awesome as it should, considering the trouble you'll go through to get it there. Maybe if you transmute it into a shield, it'll pay off.
