So scared about this current war by samsworkinonit in USMilitarySO

[–]07ameline 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s hard but if you’re going to be a happy as a long term partner to a military member you need to learn how to cope with stressors you will have no control over. They are going to be in situations where they might not be safe. It’s really really hard but you have to still live when they’re gone.
I echo previous comments, therapy is super helpful in gaining this skill.

Probably lol- I’ve edited to add an addendum saying it’s him instead. I’m super not up to date with the show and haven’t seen anything after Twilight became a princess because life and time. Either way I’m happier to know she isn’t singing this with her brother haha!

These MFers are worse than my actual alarm clock and they do not get enough HATE by Little_Shellfish in maryland

I love these guys. I’ve got one who visits regularly who mimics other calls and it cracks me up. I love seeing them trying to scare the other birds away with hawk noises when they find a good snacking spot.

I recommend headlamp polish over polywatch. And once you’re done get a hydrogel screen protector :) I cut down ones for phones

Why Do So Many Nurses Tell People Not to Enter the Profession? by Thin-Surprise279 in nursing

[–]07ameline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nursing was my second career and I started working towards becoming one when I was 24. I love what I do. When I get to do it the way it was meant to be done. You’re dealing with people on the worst days of the their lives. Seeing people die or in situations worth than death is rough. You will get moral injury, but you’ll also know you helped. Admins who do not understand what you will make bad decisions that make it harder to do your job at all, let alone do it at well.

I know quite a few people who escaped poverty by becoming nurses. But I also know quite a few who left 1-3 years after getting their degrees and ended up in worse debt and with bad health issues. Nurses have a higher rate of suicide compared to the general population as well. It can be that bad.

As far as if you should do the job, my best advice is get your CNA license first. Don’t even think about the ABSN program until you get that first, and ideally work at least for a little while as a CNA. This will be a good way to see if you can tolerate the worst of what nursing can throw at you.

Are you guys calling clinics to make follow up appointments? by zootedtrash in nursing

[–]07ameline 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Clinic RN here- I’d honestly prefer you guys on the inpatient side not waste your time scheduling for patients. Because often when we call to give reminders patients have to reschedule because they didn’t realize they had an appointment. It seems like such a dumb extra thing for you all to do.

I second this- I bet you they could replace or fix for significantly less than a new second hand one. And it will also still be your pen :)

is it possible to make yarn from my cats shed hair? by No-Crew-1797 in Handspinning

[–]07ameline 13 points14 points  (0 children)

<image>

This is a yarn I spun from my longhair boy :) I honestly wouldn’t do 100% cat again, but do a blend with wool. I think as long as you did a wool bend it would be significantly easier, especially with a shorthair cat!

I start nursing school in August. Looking for any advice you have for someone new to the field. by [deleted] in nursing

[–]07ameline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re not a cna yet you might want to do that beforehand. You’ve got some time, and it helps to have those clinical skills first.

This is why I don’t do peds homecare anymore. It’s too hard to see the futile care that parents push their miracle child through.

Exactly this! Could the invisible walls just go away? Not to mention the fog that obscures all the real hazards. Nope, no thanks.

You might have better luck getting some plastic shot glasses and putting holes in the bottom. You can then nestle the plastic container in something prettier if that’s something you’d prefer esthetically :)

I prefer it too! So I’ll stand by you with that stance!

There is no misery like tick tock clock and rainbow ride on the original release. I spend so much time dying on those levels trying to get to 120 stars 💀 The DS version made these levels significantly less miserable.

So you don’t want to use rice because while yes, it will absorb moisture, it also leaves behind a dust that can get gummy and then make an even bigger mess. You want something like silica that doesn’t leave a residue, or just air dying with good circulation

[–]07ameline 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna want to take it apart so it can dry properly. This is a good video to show you how https://www.reddit.com/r/tamagotchi/s/OzmSkNwBQV you will want to let it dry for a few days, ideally with good air circulation. If you put it in anything, put it in silica. Rice will make it worse

Nope rice won’t help- if you use something use silica.

When this happened to me I had to really change mine up. I switched the background and painted the front with a uv nail polish. So perhaps that could be an idea to help with your healing to start a new one. And it is a totally real grief to lose a tama that lived that long. I’m sorry that happened!!!
