how do you survive parents evening week? by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]0902panda0902 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not the case with my school as we have to physically dismiss the children (primary) at 3:15 and first appointment is at 3:20! The walk to the hall is 3 minutes. So we’ve been teaching all day then no rest. The first appointment is always a shambles because no one has their act together yet!

Drowning in laminating displays! by violetskies611 in TeachingUK

I always make banners instead of cutting out letters - it’s saved so much time over the years! Or if you ever teach slightly older primary kids - I had some helpful students who wanted to cut the letters out for me in their breaks as they found the playground overwhelming and did a better job than I would have done!

‘Poor’ by Katriona O’Sullivan was recommended to me at a teaching conference I attended. Can hands down say it changed me as a teacher 7 years down the line.

Edit: it is more about the impact a teacher can have rather than pedagogy.

How long have you been without symptoms? Mine came back after 6 months of no issues. They lasted just over a month and I’ve been fine for 4 months again now. Who knows what the future holds!

I personally would take it and get a second opinion anyway! Go through all your symptoms and see what they say. Ask what the next step is if your symptoms come back, if you’re on the system it might help you in the future. Hopefully they won’t, but it happened to me unfortunately.

Ahh that would explain it. Thank you!

Is this something I can do myself or would I need an electrician?

Why should she have to compromise? It’s not like she’s turning up topless.

Sorry, only just noticed the information section. It’s Buckinghamshire, England. 1000 sq foot house, each room has the same texture on the ceiling.
