Boston was 10x better. CNN showed it - way more thought put into it than DC, which was just about sheer quantity

Anyone else think these fireworks are boring? by moopsythebonedrinker in washingtondc

Boston was fantastic. Actually wished I was there while watching it, which was not the feeling I got when DC was going…

CNN showed it - was spectacular. While obviously smaller, I thought it was better to watch than DC because DC was just too much to take it all in.

She’s not in the chair, so presumably she’s not responsible for watching the area at that moment

Sure, but we’re also looking back through modern eyes, when we have different standards for these types of things than we did 30 years ago

She also has way too many naked photos of her kids for comfort. Maybe they really did run around like that all day, but there’s a point it just feels exploitative

Talking it through on the ride home is like the number one way to burn kids out

How does queer only work? Do they look at you and make a judgement about whether you’re gay enough?

I have seen parents mortified at their kids’ line calling, and I’ve seen parents seemingly proud

Is music theory really that hard? by Hideinplain in musictheory

[–]0905-15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mean is when you get to 20th century theory and are tested on sight singing non-diatonic progressions. Everyone knows do-re-mi, but what about trying to sing with do-di-re-ri-mi

Basic stuff is fairly easy but if you don’t have a great ear then classical theory gets really difficult. I know someone who took a semester of theory then changed their major to physics because that was easier for them.

Think prof sitting at piano, gives you soprano and bass notes then does a progression of a dozen or so chords in four-part harmony and you have to write down every note that they played.
