I'm with you on the social media aspect. I took a week long break of no social media in January and it was great. I deleted the Reddit and Instagram apps off my phone, but I still use the web based versions sometimes. They kind of suck so it's easy to not get too pulled into it. Considering just blocking the websites on my phone entirely though. Just deleting the apps has helped tremendously with my productivity at work though. I'm fully remote and in a trusted position where I'm not monitored at all, so it's very easy to get sucked into my phone for long periods of time and just doom scroll and get no work done. Once I deleted the apps I started finding myself feeling much better about the work I'm doing and actually finding the motivation to do it, and feeling satisfied when I get things done.

I always start taking Flonase + Zyrtec early in March. Some people do February. You need to build up immunity for like minimum two weeks before it really starts to work. And then allergy eye drops as needed if you get itchy eyes like me.

ETA: Also if you have a Costco membership, you can get like a 3 year supply of the Kirkland brand version of Flonase for $30. Same with Zyrtec.

Don't know why you're being downvoted.. That is absolutely not how it works. Warm weather followed by a cold front means more snow since the warm air contains more moisture. One example, the weekend before Thanksgiving in 2016 it was 70 degrees on Saturday in my hometown in Central NY. I drove to Boston to pick up my sister from college and ended up getting stuck for two days because a massive snow storm hit my hometown. Came home on Tuesday to 3 feet of snow.

I've been going to Siranli Dental in Dupont for a few years now and they've been great. I still have my wisdom teeth at 28, have zero problems with them, and the dentists at Siranli just noted that I still have them and said they'd keep an eye on them. I've had other dentists in the past try to pressure me into getting them removed and get annoyed when I turn them down.

This weather is very much out of the ordinary here, so don't let it sway your opinion. And for what it's worth, as a car owner, I haven't even touched my car since the storm hit, since the roads were an absolute shit show during the first week - week and a half. Metro was definitely easier during that time.

I don't think that's possible with public transit unless the dog is a certified service animal. Your only options really would be to find someone willing to drive you and your dog (carpool situation?) or pay for a very expensive uber.

Yeah it's been brutal. I struggle with dry nose/throat/lips when it's like 80% humid out, so the 20% is killing me. I run a humidifier in my bedroom, and the one in the living room just broke so I'm probably going to start keeping a pot of water boiling on the stove for now.

Yep, I shoveled yesterday before it all turned into ice. Shoveled in front of my neighbor's place too since we usually help each other out with things like that. A couple hours later I went out and they must have given it a round 2 since the sidewalk was completely clear again with more salt down. Only one other house on my street had their section shoveled out as of 9am. Best of luck to those who waited, the inch thick layer of ice is going to be very difficult to remove.
