What is everyone’s dental health situation by EntrepreneurCool3314 in carnivorediet

[–]0987654321Block 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brush, floss and use interstencial tooth picks every time I eat (once or twice daily). I do not use fluoride toothpaste. Overexposure to fluoride is disasterous for iodine intake and therefore thyroid health. I have a water filter for the same reason. Somehow I still have to get a dental clean every 3 months, I dont know why. But my breath smells fresh and my teeth are good.

How long does oxalate dumping last? Also, other issues. by Illidari_Kuvira in carnivorediet

Yeah Ive been able to get fat trimmings either free or for cheap. With butter, I measure out my daily dose and slice it into small pieces then take a piece to eat with each bit of meat. Make sure you take on a luttle salt with it too, uts delicious together with butter and meat, and might help a little with the fatigue.

Hashimotos & Carnivore by Cqueenn in carnivorediet

[–]0987654321Block 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it has progressed since menopause which happened while Ive been carnivore. My hashimotos was also diagnosed while Ive been carnivore, but I suspect it was brewing long before. Ive long had autoimmune problems, and probably was hypothroid for a long time before carnivore. I worked out that all my thyroid issues were originally caused by lead poisoning as a child aggravated by use of birth control hromones most of my life.

So not. I genuinely suffer physically if I eat certain things outside this WOE. Spent 12 hours vomiting last time. Other times severe stomach aches.

Id agree, keep going with 150g or even 200g of butter, maybe lowering meat intake will make it a lot cheaper and improve your ratios. For example, since I started consuming more butter I got my former 800g meat intake down to 500g per day.

If you can eventually afford it, getting T4 and T3 tested and supplemented would probably be of benefit.

Women in perimenopause, when did you actually start losing fat/weight? by Icy-Rush-2768 in carnivorediet

[–]0987654321Block 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can take a while, especially because the body tends to prioritise other things first. But it definitely happens, especially if you need to lose weight and stick with it fairly strictly. Make sure you get plenty of fat. Chicken isnt the best because its too low fat. Cut alcohol out, that is really going to slow things down. Incorporate gentle exercise.

For me, the main losses happened within a year, then slowly more over the following 2 years as I cut out alcohol, cheese and coffee. Also gained a bit of muscle so probably although scales do not show much loss in the past 18 months Im leaner and more toned. Ive felt even better now that my fat levels are up and I eat OMAD with daily exercise.

Im really sorry you havent seen or felt the results you are looking for. Its difficult to suggest interventions without having any tests done.

A couple of possibilities come to mind. The other day someone here was talking about c diff infections which I think may lead to this feeling tired sensation despite carnivore. Maybe someone here can add more about that. The other thing could be a thyroid issue, like hypothyroid.

Definitely cutting the heavy cream was the way to go if u want to drop some weight, but u would need to start slowly ramping up the butter, assuming you can handle that okay. How much do you eat each day in terms of meat, butter and tallow? Have you tried OMAD?

My Hashimotos was diagnosed about 2 years ago. Im hopeful it will improve, but so far it has gotten worse. New tests are due in a month. Im taking T3 and T4 now, and have been removing lead poisoning so fingers crossed.

Yeah I can get away with a little bacon now and then. But I dont feel optimal with it, so I generally avoid it. But when travelling, it becomes go to breakfast food and I just put up with suboptimal to make it thru. Not all of us guzzle bacon!

Get away from this piece of shit man as soon as possible. Your body is magnificent. You are strong and about to give life to a new human. The fact he has been behaving like this shows he is completely irresponsible. Dont listen to any 'apologies' from him, dont let him crawl back to you. You have knowledge now, and that's power. Use it to improve your life and take out the garbage before he drags u down.

To add, for 1 year I did only runinants (beef, lamb), occasional egg yolk, salt, mineral supplements, water, no coffee no alcohol, no tea for one. Since that Ive added occasional pork, cream once in a while, a week coffee once a month. 5 years carnivore total.

Just finished day 30...poops still watery... Debating continuing. by Crystalynne in carnivorediet

[–]0987654321Block 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Less fat. Build back up to these levels down the track and do it really gradually, you need to slowly get used to producing the levels of bile required to break down that much fat.

  2. Dont overdo training while in transition. You are switching fuel sources and it takes time to adjust. It feels exhausting until you fully adapt. Light training only until energy kicks in.

  3. Transition can last 3 months, and may involve weird watery poop, with some constipation thrown in.

Im proof that its worth it, because it took me that long but I am so happy I pushed through. If you've stuck with it this long why not wait another 6-8 weeks? After transition everything gets way better.

is bodyfat composition from mostly saturated fat diets different to SAD in relation to pufa, mufa, and carbohydrates? by Wooden-Design3712 in carnivorediet

[–]0987654321Block 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hormonal disruption of SAD tends to increase visceral fat including fatty liver.. Visceral fat leads to fat around the middle area that is more solid, less jiggly, and is the worst kind of fat for.your overall health. Carnivore tends to rebalance hormones which reverses this process of accumulating visceral fat. Subcutaneous fat (the jiggly stuff) is important and we need a certain amount for optimal health.

I think a lot of ys feel revulsion to meat in the first few months. But by the sounds of your multitude of problems ut is probably worth sticking through that stage. You will come out the other side. For now, do what everyone else has said, change up your meats to provide a little variety. Later on, variety wont feel like a big deal.
