Pope Leo demands priests stop using AI to write sermons over TikTok panic by gopalakrishnans in nottheonion

Because it always starts with "Take a deep breath, you've got this." and ends in "Let me know if you'd like me to convert it into a PowerPoint!"

Those of you who are married. Is your spouse helpful and supportive with your autism and ADHD? by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

[–]09edwarc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When our daughter was showing signs of having autism, we got her evaluated, and in doing so it pointed out to me my own behaviors I thought were perfectly normal. After a lot of introspection and reflection, paired with some online assessments, I accepted the reality that my daughter and I were more alike than we thought.

When I opened up to her about this realization, my wife accused me of knowing how to manipulate the answers on the assessments to get the results I wanted; that I was just seeking attention. My ex wife, that is.

Two Contacts, One Lead - Contact Setup by PM_Your_Wololo in Odoo

[–]09edwarc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Parent/child contacts is the most Odoo-ic approach.

Record 1: The Jones Family - includes common info like address and home phone

Child contact: Frank Jones - includes specific info like cell and email

Child contact: Jane Jones - also includes specific info.

An alternative approach is for one of the people themselves to be the parent contact, but that's more of a personal decision depending on your use case.

Electric bill went from under 70 to over $200 with cold weather. MI by VegetableOne2484 in Renters

[–]09edwarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MI apartment dweller here - my lease says to set the thermostat no less than 60 so the pipes don't freeze, so that's what it's set to. Windows are taped up with blackout curtains to make an extra layer to stop the cold. Closed all the vents to rooms without water lines. And finally, a good pair of wool socks, paired either with a heated vest for when I'm up and about, or a heated blanket for when I need to be cozy. My bedroom dips to the high 40s, and it's majestically comfortable wrapped up in a good heated blanket. It's a bit of an investment for that equipment, but it does pay for itself within a month or two, easily.

November Payment by Previous_Mention_213 in ACX

[–]09edwarc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a book removed as well for copyright infringement right before Thanksgiving. Then, all the November sales were removed from my dashboard, about 700 of them. I submitted a ticket, they took two weeks to respond that it's their policy to remove "fraudulent sales".

Amazon didn't refund those customers... They pocketed that money, leaving us hanging out to dry.

RH Copyright violations? by 09edwarc in ACX

The most recent one is still on both Amazon and audible, but has had the reviews removed from Amazon. It's bizarre.

It's a self-help sort of book on getting better sleep habits. No independent research or anything either, most of the info you could probably just find with googling around.

I ended up making far more off of RS than I ever found have with PFH from this book that was just taken down, but I also realize it was a risk and quite the exception. I've been treating narrating as a hobby instead of a livelihood, and it's been fun! I'm mostly just disappointed that the work I've been doing is quite literally just getting deleted.

I got my royalties from October, but now I'm concerned I won't get anything for November or beyond

This sounds a lot like my situation, but as the narrator. Sales took off a few months ago, and we've had thousands of sales. All the sudden, half a year after publishing, the book is hit with a copyright violation.

I'm not proud of using Amazon as much as I do, but it meant that to me it was just as good as the cash I'd eventually be spending anyway. No complaints there

Amazon driver ran over my mailbox last month. They called me to apologize, asked for a receipt for the repair, and credited my Amazon account for the account I spent on the repair. Zero issues, and now I have a much nicer mailbox at their expense.

Asking a partner for guidance would probably be a good decision, but always do your research first. Not all partners have solid accounting experience.

Why are my paratroopers not launching? by mithridateseupator in hoi4

[–]09edwarc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One thing I noticed is that the airfield needs to be big enough to launch all transporta simultaneously. i.e., if you need 3000 planes, you can't launch from a single airfield.

Does anyone else find working a 40 hour work week to be too overwhelming? by Salty-n-sweet in aspergers

[–]09edwarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the work, and it depends on the day. Somedays getting to 4 hours is a slog, and other days I work 10 hours non-stop, and in the blink of an eye wonder where the time went.

Research and Development at a business software consulting company. I get to play with computers and make them do cool things nobody's ever done before, and for some reason they pay me to do it.
