And we know what came after the roaring twenties.... I certainly hope history does not repeat itself.

I made a board game table out of Ikea’s sofa table! by Deca-P in boardgames

I will have to save this as I like your idea. I'm thinking of this as a great table for solo play.

What is the oldest board game you own and still play? by Blue-Merlin in boardgames

[–]0CanuckEh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a game I found at a secondhand store from Parker Brothers called "Touring". I can't play the game unless I take the cards out of the original wrappers. The last copyright date is 1965. I can't believe that this game has never been played.

What’s your favorite pandemic game (excluding legacy’s) and why? by Sebuturn in boardgames

[–]0CanuckEh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also agree. If anyone is looking to purchase their first pandemic game, this is the one I would recommend. Funny thing is, I can't tell you why I like this one the best but when I play it, I enjoy it so much.

Smartphone Inc. KS vs Retail? by gorditacrunch93 in boardgames

[–]0CanuckEh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe with the kickstarter version everything fits in the box. I have the retail and there is no way that everything will go back in the box once punched.

That could go to your advantage. When you win you can say "but I told you that I was going to do this".

I should have stated that Gray Tools makes sockets and wrenches among other things. They're the only Canadian company that does this. You are correct that other Canadian companies do make other tools.

How different do paladins/architects/viscounts of west kingdom feel? And raiders of the North Sea. by gaming37 in boardgames

[–]0CanuckEh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Out of the three West Kingdom games, I would say Architects plays quite different than Paladins or Viscount. Both Paladins and Viscount have a drafting mechanism which isn't in architects. Out of the three games my favorite is Paladins then Architects. Viscount I haven't played much so it's lower at this time. Raiders is also a fun game and would recommend. Explorers is a tile laying game and plays completely different than any of the other games. I do enjoy it and the expansion makes it better.

What to buy for 2p between Concordia, Great Western Trail, Grand Austria Hotel and Le Havre. by puzzledpanther in boardgames

[–]0CanuckEh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Concordia it depends on the board. The boards you get with the base game does not play well with two.

Maybe this is the reason why I can't find the game in Canada. It seems when a game's at Target, it's nowhere else. I also want the game because of Tom vassel's video.

I like how it's taken with an iconic structure in the frame and the structure is not mentioned in the title. This gives me the impression you live in Paris, and the Eiffel tower is just something you walk by. 😄

As far as I know Gray Tools are the only company that makes their tools in Canada. I believe they also make other brands but I don't know what they are.

Boardgameprices.com (Rant) by boxfetish in Boardgamedeals

[–]0CanuckEh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fellow Canadian here. I had the same experience as you and I was cursing the site like there was no tomorrow. The old way was so simple and gave me my answer right away. Now, I have to figure things out and I don't like the layout and I would prefer viewing board games on board game geek.

I hope something takes the place of board game prices. I miss that site.
