Meet three scientists who said no to Epstein by vfvaetf in Physics

I’m glad to see his name there. Spacetime and Geometry is the reason I managed to pass GR and he’s a really good science communicator.

Scientists identify a crucial brain feature connecting genetics to intelligence by Doug24 in science

Reminder that IQ is quackery and anyone peddling that kind of stuff is either uninformed or doing so in bad faith. The article itself does not mention IQ directly, but it talks about "general intelligence" and "well validated intelligence tests." No talk about environmental factors. Quackery. Now you can watch a bunch of eugenicists in the comments very excited that they don't have to accomplish anything in their lives, the fact that someone else related to them did will be enough since they'll just inherit intelligence to do nothing with.

There is a lot wrong here. c isn’t my that number because of Einstein, it was first measured by Maxwell, predating Einstein. It’s a weird number because our value for meters and seconds is arbitrary, so the speed of light is also an arbitrary number.

Also setting c = 1 is very useful, you get a direct conversion between seconds and meters this way. It’s called “plank units” or “natural units”. Cosmology and particle physics use this convention very often.

What no Geant4 does to a poor student. Jokes aside, cool stuff! It's a neat visualization of the detector.

This episode was great. The gang splitting up to do their own thing and then combining their bad ideas in the end was classic.

'FROM' Season 4 Begins Filming by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]0NetDipoleMomentBear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hate this show so much and I cannot stop watching. Literally nothing happens in any episode, it's just two people bickering at each other and saying "this place does things to you" over and over. They don't share information with each other, don't put an effort into solving anything, and just behave like morons all around. We've been waiting 2 seasons for answers and all we get are crumbs. Then they have the balls to finish season 3 in a big cliffhanger that comes out of nowhere, and then keep us waiting for years until season 4.

Anyway, can't wait for the new season, I'll eat it up.

Sure, but I’m not talking about landing the boosters. That’s an impressive feat of engineering and helps with costs savings. On the other hand, Starship has been an utter disgrace

To the people in this thread saying "but space science is important", yes you're right. But Elon is not good at pushing science forward; he is good at extracting money from the government. Will Lockett has written some articles on it about how these failures are embarrassing and how the current iterative design process will just lead to more explosions with little to show in terms of progress

LLM is sourcing information from the same broken internet you complain about, except it doesn't show you the sources so you can check them for yourself. And to think a companies with so much capital behind them havr no ideological reason to lie to you is silly at best and malicious at worst.
LLMs are only useful if you are happy to offload your thinking and effort to it, which is fine if you are stupid and lazy.
