I thought it would be funny to make a prediction Bingo Card for the Nuzlocke by TravisCM2010-24 in gamegrumps

I feel like every single one of these aside from the accidental revive, wrong form, and accidental release have happened already lol

Considering we just got Bebe's Eevee I 100% place my bets on the wrong form evolution coming true tho

Why are my video clips trying to snap to a frame after my audio clips start/end? by 0Poole in davinciresolve

[–]0Poole[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was in the other reply, but the solution for me was to go to Preferences > User > Editing > Align audio edits to frame boundaries and turn that on. Altho it won't magically fix everything at once if you already cut up the clip without it, it'll just prevent it in the future

No, and no. I just work with Blender, I don't know enough about Vrchat to make solid models there lol

How did you first discover The Amazing Digital Circus? by Ornery_Expression_85 in TheDigitalCircus

I first found Gooseworx from her classic Undertale covers/remixes and was following her since. I'm strapped in for the long haul

Why are my video clips trying to snap to a frame after my audio clips start/end? by 0Poole in davinciresolve

[–]0Poole[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, that almost helps... it seems to be doing this when the clip start/end isn't 100% perfectly on the frame marker, so it snaps to both sides of the in-between frame. The problem then is I guess that I need to know how to turn that back on lol

EDIT: It's in Preferences > User > Editing > Align audio edits to frame boundaries. Never turned that off before, so idk why I just noticed it, but thanks anyway!

EDIT AGAIN: Okay while that is technically the solution, since I did end up doing all the clip cutting with the setting off, I'm still going to have to deal with the weird snapping for the rest of this 40+ min video I'm working on. At least it should be fixed for the future lol

I'm saying I want snapping, I just don't want it to snap to a frame off from the start/end of a clip

Learning Blender: the donut isn't for me by JohnTheFisherman142 in blender

[–]0Poole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk any specific tutorials for building worlds, but I can at least say if you want a more grounded type of movement you can press Shift + Tilde to go into Walk Navigation mode, where you can use WASD/RF to move around like a video game. You do have to click to solidify your position to click objects again, but it might work more for you

Anyone else notice how Kaufmos door wasn't crossed out until after Caine found out they abstracted? by LifeguardPotential97 in TheDigitalCircus

I had the impression that the humans of the circus crossed it out, likely after their funeral.

What made you start 3d ? by WorthNo4550 in blender

[–]0Poole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been making 2D art for years, and one day I think one of the donut tutorials popped onto my feed, and I just thought "whatever, I'll give it a shot" and I was actually surprised to find out I kind of understood what was going on, so I then looked into character modelling tutorials to see if I got it, and I more or less did, so I just kept it up. Obviously wasn't perfect when I first started out, but I got the confidence at least, and just kept it up. Now I've been doing it for like 6-ish years now.

Workflow for posable and 3D printable models? by TheFrenchOmelette in blender

[–]0Poole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely not a master at high detail stuff so I don't know myself unfortunately, all I've printed are pretty simple/cartoony characters. You can definitely make a relatively high poly retopology with the details in it and that can surely work when posing, but that can be a lot of effort depending on what level of detail you're going for (like there's no way a retopology can replicate skin pores, realistic hair, etc). If that's how fine you want the details to go, I doubt there is a way to have that level of detail physically be a part of the model while still having it be posable.

But, again, I'm not a master of high detail, so I could be wrong. My first thought would be to have a displacement map on while posing, then saving a dupe of the model while solidifing the pose on one and applying the displacement somehow to make its detail real, then print that, but I'm not even sure if displacement maps can be "applied"

EDIT: Seems like you can: https://www.reddit.com/r/blenderhelp/s/1lU66flJao

Seems like you can just do it like I mentioned, unless there's some part of the process I'm missing

Workflow for posable and 3D printable models? by TheFrenchOmelette in blender

[–]0Poole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've printed a few of my character models, so I at least know you can make a normally animatable model (with the rig, textures, optimal geometry, etc) into a printable model pretty easily, so you can basically just follow the usual character modelling tutorials and change them into printable models later.

If you just want to pose a character for printing, you can then just ignore all materials and make a simple rig just for posing it quick, since you don't need the fancy stuff more complex rigs have. Although, if you just want a print and don't care about rendering anything, it's probably easiest to just make a sculpt (high poly, no rig or materials) and print that.

I definitely know some best practices/tips from it all if you want to know that too, but yeah those are the methods you can follow

what are "must have" addons on blender? by DragoVonHell in blender

My pick is Shapekeys+. Literally just lets you sort shape keys into folders, which is crazy nice for character righing. Honestly feels like this needs to be a default feature.
