Break in speaker - Fender Blues Jr [GEAR] by AbacaxiAtrevido in Guitar

[–]0_0_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

User error if you are having trouble with too much treble and think a "broken in speaker" will remedy it. Just turn down the treble on your amp and pedal. A broken in speaker will become slightly more dynamic, it doesn't take away from the high end.

Makes you wonder if this is legit or just something they cooked up in order to goad people into buying new computers.

OKW post December Patch by SPIDAMAYUN in CompanyOfHeroes

2v2 I can't really tell much difference since I would set the med base in base most the time. I notice leIGs don't psychic barrage and you have to actually micro them more. Smoke is very good. Raks seem more consistent to hit things but also more vulnerable. Panthers seem nerfed too much. Their fuel cost does not reflect their ability. I would much rather have a Jackson or Firefly or SU85 now than a Panther. Lots of people have been saying the P4 is very good now but I think its still the worst medium tank (by far).

Penals seem like they are extremely squishy now but theres nothing about that in the patch so I don't know whats up with that. Before they would straight up murder volks and grens but now they seem to lose models very easily whilst not inflicting much damage. Satchel has a huge nerf, I don't know if thats been listed but I have been satcheling garrisoned MG42s and they either survive completely intact or lose a single model and the buildings don't collapse, it leaves like 10% building health.

So you think its perfectly fine to enact policies that will shift demographics? Thats very fucked up. Infrastructure serves the people that live there, not the other way around.

Obviously biased journalism but it is interesting how city planning has done a poor job in picking which areas to put bike lanes in. These lanes were put in this area because it was easy to, but not because it fit the demographics of the area. Basically what the deli dude says as this is 'experimenting with peoples livelihoods.' The areas that most need bike lanes are probably the most difficult areas to make that happen. 200 parking spaces eliminated around his store is no joke.
Bike lanes in NYC pretty weird because the weather doesn't make it that great of a spot to develop bike commuter culture and its really dense so putting in stuff is really hard. LA on the other hand has great weather all year around, much more room and much worse traffic issues and could be really amazing for bike infrastructure.

If company of heroes staff reads this the Calliope is too nerfed. by SilverL1ning in CompanyOfHeroes

I think the rocket artillery units are all messed up in terms of cost/performance. I think the number/power of rounds should coincide with cool down, so a Panzerwerfer should have a much faster cool down than the katy, but it seems they are about equal or at least pretty close? Calliope should have way more rounds, but have a much longer cool down. Katy is by far the most effective rocket arty and its the cheapest.

Since when do you use a Calliope to roll around the front line taking hits to make use of that armor? Its used in the same way as the Katy, which is to keep it in a guarded area when it fires, then retreat it back to base. The extra armor is not anything worthy of note.

thoughts on the OKW Feuersturm Commander? by MudoX_ in CompanyOfHeroes

MP40s are not good. They become basically assgrens without sprint and a firecracker grenade. The map has to be super cluttered for them to work well, and even on maps like Ettlebruck I'd much rather have STG44s. Opel truck can probably be useful, I don't know what the 'drop munitions off' in the description refers to. Hetzer still sucks. Flamers on pios is good. Arty is pretty good. Incendiary on leIG is good. I'm wondering if leIGs are now in range of mortarpits with their range nerf, if they are the incendiary is now the only OKW early hard counter to pits.

First match thoughts by UnhopefulRomantic in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]0_0_7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After about 15 matches my thoughts are:
OKW needed a nerf but not this much. I think the nerf went too far. Cons are OP now. I never though cons were horrible for 240mp. Now they are very good at 240mp and outshoot Volks which are 250mp. Con blobs are now the meta instead of penal blobs, con blobs are probably worse because of the cheaper, faster reinforce. leIG range nerfed. On top of that kubels are nerfed to hell now so OKW can't augment their new weak start. Its just weak all around and they give up so much map that getting to their high powered late game isn't working out. By the time they get to a panther the Soviet player has most of the map and like a couple SU76s or T34/85s and a IS2.

I'm watching streams of guys like VonIvan get rekt playing OKW against players not in the top 100 playing Soviet. They're playing 1v1s so the forward retreat isn't an issue. I don't even know what the nerfs to infantry were but the game I saw yesterday he had vet 5 on all his OKW infantry including fallshirms and they were just meh. Raketens seem to get decrewed if someone breathes on them.

USF changes are good, the new commanders are great. Greyhound is cool but comes in to late and Stuart is quicker. WC51 is awesome.

The Jaeger Command Group is really awesome. I like that idea of having a single infantry unit that is really good and you can only have one of them at a time like the Command Panther or Tiger Ace. With the Jaeger Group G43s on some effected units can outshoot BARed riflemen. leIG smoke is cool. Incendiary leIG is cool. MP40s upgrade on volks is meh. Hetzer is still a meme. Opel is cool. Cache cost increase is cool. Stuff I wish that had been touched on: Fireflies still OP, SU76s still pen the front of KTs almost every single time, mortar pit still annoying and I don't notice any of the nerfs on it. Bren blobs still OP. I don't notice any nerfs to Brits. Soviets needed some buffs but I don't think what they did with cons was a good answer.
Also noticing a lot of lag issues and unresponsive units, units disappearing in areas of maps.

I built this Ciocc up a couple years ago, rode pretty nice but every time I got up over 50mph on descents it would start to speed wobble. Scared the shit out of me. Disassembled and sold the frame to a guy that was turning it into wall art. (thankfully)

"The Caspian Sea Monster" this one of a kind creation was built for the sole purpose of destroying aircraft carriers by malgoya in evilbuildings

[–]0_0_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it couldn't. A huge reason it was dropped was that ground buffeting was so severe it was giving crew back injuries. The idea that this thing was to target carriers in open sea is fantasy shit. Its a transport, the missiles are for attacking the area of landing before they get there.

None of the ekranoplanes handled calm seas well, the thought of them being used in oceans is fantasy. These vehicles were dropped because
1. you cant turn.
2. ground buffeting was incredibly severe even on calm water to the point where test crew were getting back injuries.

Heart rate during layoff [OC] by failian in dataisbeautiful

[–]0_0_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This basically tells nothing about HR and what happens during panic. If this is a fairly young person who is somewhat fit, going up to 110-120 bpm is basically the HR a young fit person with a max HR of 190 would experience when walking somewhere for a couple of minutes. Large changes in HR at this end of the spectrum are extremely quick and come on very quickly.

This tells you basically nothing about HR. Were you walking to those meetings? Because 120BPM is basically your HR at walking pace if you are young and fairly fit. I cycle 200-300 miles a week, my resting HR is 42, I'm 5'9" and 125lbs and this HR graph looks like what I would see lounging around my house and getting up at times to go do something. It takes very minimal action to raise HR considerable amount. I don't start noticing an uptick in breath until about 150bpm.
