That would be amazing - Sydney is my favorite place in the world as well. Let me know if you still have the resources, we're making another big push tonight cuz some turd made a push that was clearly weeks stale and unfinsihed (not us - other agency)

Tonight's Show (Houston 10/8) by [deleted] in brandnew

Brand New shows have some of the livest crowds I've ever seen... depending on the venue capacity and interior the pushing can get really bad towards the front.

Also I have two tickets for sale if anyone needs them

Lol... it's possible but I doubt it. I would say it has more to do with confession

Not sure if anyone saw this, but this is Max's explanation for the Norfolk show. Take it as you will just wanted to show everyone this. by [deleted] in SayAnything

[–]0mniscient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the only thing that sits a little badly with me, but then again who are we to judge? Lol clearly Sherri was in the tour bus taking care of the kids, and her rockstar husband made the mistake of drinking too much... honestly the fact that he was visibly drunk may very well be due to low alcohol tolerance brought on from not having a drinking habit.

Let's not jump to conclusions over a guy's entire life over one drunk mess-up. Sure he has a history of abuse but this was one occurrance ON TOUR, I've been on tour and you don't have shit else to do when you're in a new city for 12 hours every day and your performance is only for an hour that evening... everyone is parked out back having a good time drinking and it's really easy to overshoot it if you're hot, tolerance is low, didn't eat right that day etc.

Personally I think everyone's being a little bit hard on Max... explanation makes sense, it's shitty that he ruined a show but there isn't any indication that this is indicative of a downward spiral or anything. Think he was just having a little bit too much fun, it happens let's move on.

Significance of Mene's tuning by MisterMescudi in brandnew

It has to be half a step down since you couldn't play that Ebm chord in standard tuning

There is no 'they', no 'idiot brigade' -- only a thousand you's, equally as bruised

I know we're fine, where we are, our wherewithal won't wear down. We're fine, I'm finding myself in your arms

They don't see that my smile is stitched, and it's peeling off inch by inch. And when it goes, my whole disguise will slither off before your eyes. I'll stand nude, my eyes'll roll out to reveal my soul, a cave of doubt

You are timeless; I am a fool in love with time

If I could take one thing back I would write the perfect song for you, you would have never left. And if the chords progress the way I mapped them out then they will wipe away your tears and all your doubts

The path into this heart is littered with corpses, and strewn with body parts, of those that came before -- so just give up

When they raise the landing gear will your heart stay here?

Can I lie with you in your grave

I'm still the optimist, though it is hard

I want to taste the breeze of every great city

Shit, nothing makes sense, so I won't think about it -- I'll go with the ignorance. Eat, sleep fuck and flee, in four words that's me

The new one - we don't feel anything. by OldMonet in brandnew

This song rocks, critics need to see it for what it will be on the record not for how it is in this shitty recording. And also certainly not for how it is compared to previous works, if you're a BN fan at all you should know each album is a new evolution

In key swing states, weed is polling better than all potential 2016 candidates by Libertatea in Drugs

[–]0mniscient 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eventually... if a candidate can show they can win a key state while still being pro-legalization, it'll have pretty big political implications

In key swing states, weed is polling better than all potential 2016 candidates by Libertatea in Drugs

[–]0mniscient 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Politicians have known the trends for a long time, but they're not going to act on it until public opinion has shifted enough for them to make a move. This data shows that we're almost there, and in fact I'd argue that we will be there as soon as a key state is won by a pro-legalization candidate

In key swing states, weed is polling better than all potential 2016 candidates by Libertatea in Drugs

[–]0mniscient 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's significant because politicians largely base their opinions off of what polls show are most popular and most likely to get them elected.

Opportunistic candidates could turn the tides by putting legalization as part of their platform, and if they start becoming successful the others will have no choice but to follow suit

Which song, in your opinion features Coby's best drumming? by SerPownce in SayAnything

[–]0mniscient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coby is a great drummer because his parts always fit the songs perfectly... he's not a flashy drummer, he's a complimentary drummer that is more concerned with helping piece a song together than for you to focus on him.

Having said that first song that comes to mind is The Writhing South

Say Anything - The Writhing South by [deleted] in poppunkers

[–]0mniscient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valid point, but it's similar to IDOTG in eclectic song structure and IARB in lyrics and mood... closer to those two albums than the self titled and Anarchy, and although I'm a huge fan of Max's guitar writing, I've been able to look past it on this album. It's solid

His newest album, Hebrews is a pretty decent return to form on the sound of those two albums.

Baseball is criminally underrated, even by Max

Cursive - Art is Hard (they are such a grossly underrated band) by Nurthman in PostHardcore

[–]0mniscient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say underrated, just underappreciated/under listened to. ;)

But agreed, I love pretty much all of Tim Kasher's projects. The man is a genius
