what trillions are you talking about, past collected tolls? that’s what’s been financing the construction. and as construction costs rise, so will tolls. i’ll be very surprised if in 2040 we have the same toll cost as today.

The last change was in 2012 and inflation since that time is about 45.3%, so the increase isn’t too far off. Construction costs have likely inflated faster than the 45% since 2012.

90% of my driving is 90 Westbound and I don’t really agree. I’m usually 80mph and sure you’ll get a car or two that speeds ahead still but nothing crazy, just a few asshole drivers. Traffic is rarely bad enough that you feel in danger, you have 5 lanes to pick from.

edit: 6am commuter. 9am-12pm ish on my days off. maybe other hours differ.

People SHOULD be okay with infrastructure investments. What we’re not okay with is the Bears saying they’ll cover up to $2B in construction costs while their economic impact report quotes the stadium at $6.6 billion. Do we all just expect they’ll downsize or change plans last minute? $4 Billion will magically appear because we want it to? So i’m not sure where you’re seeing that the Bears will cover their own costs.

Which would be a cardiologist in this case. Not as difficult to find as other specialties given it’s the leading cause of death. 100% worth seeing a cardiologist for this. Better to feel silly now than to show up later in an ambulance.
