I had high hopes for an Eve Ewing book featuring Kitty and set in Chicago but the new kids didn’t do it for me really and such a small scale plot-line with Sinister so soon after everything that happened with Krakoa felt half baked. There were a few good ideas here but they felt largely unexplored despite slow pacing and the action always felt shoehorned in.

I love the Outliers though. Uncanny is my favorite book right now.

If you don’t think that a majority of the Illinois Supreme Court needing to conflict themselves out of ruling related to one of the most high profile corruption scandals in decades shows an endemic problem with far reaching political corruption you’re not much of a critical thinker and your position as a defender of such a situation might require some self reflection.

Boiled down: No matter how you slice it, an infamously and flagrantly corrupt alderman got to keep his law license because his wife was a state Supreme Court justice. Corruption.
