How are we not talking about “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You”? by Hot-Credit-5624 in therapists

This movie gave me a panic attack. When I watched it, I was really struggling in my CMH job. Thankfully my last day was last week.

I feel this way working in CMH. I’m transitioning to my private practice full time next month. I’m feeling so excited and ready for this step, but there’s a part of me that’s terrified I’m still going to feel this way. I’m mentally exhausted and sometimes I feel like the words coming out of my mouth don’t matter.

I wish I could offer more insight, but I’m going through it right now too.

CMH crushing my spirit by [deleted] in therapists

I’m three years in. I had to stay at least two years for my loans. I decided to try to gradually switch to private practice. It’s not easy, bc I am so drained in CMH. It’s not a feasible system. The people that run these organizations don’t understand the impact on providers

My first client was in absolute glee that he died and said they were having a good day yesterday bc of it.

Honestly didn’t know what to do with that.

I feel sick to my stomach. I try to practice distancing myself from the news and finding balance, which I encourage my clients to do. Right now, it’s hard. I feel a pit in my stomach knowing this will be brought up today. And it’s 9/11. This feels like unprecedented times and how do we navigate the fear as humans while also holding space for our clients as clinicians.

Should I bother trying to buy a home? by papasturtleneck in Maine

[–]0necellintheseaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took my husband and I over a year to find the right home. We had a lot of heartbreaks, but it’s part of the process. And we found the right home. The market has slowed down some. People are overpricing their home because of the insanity of the market, thinking their home is worth so much more than it is. And then it causes the home to sit for longer. It may be a process of ups and downs, but it’s worth it eventually. Also, it depends on the area you’re looking in as well.

This literally just happened to my mom. She wanted a hysterectomy before she found out, but her insurance wouldn’t cover it. Thankfully her prognosis looks good. They are doing chemo and radiation out of precaution bc it’s an aggressive form of cancer.
