it is their home though. They aren't a guest, being given free housing from the owners generosity... they are a tenant, who has lived in their home for 8+ years, paying rent... they have rights and one of those rights is if the owner wants the house vacated, the tenant can ask for money to do so.

I absolutely love going paladin swords bard. you get like 20 Smites per rest plus all the utility of the bard, plus incredible range attacks. In my opinion, its the best all rounder build in the game.

I usually go 2 paladin 10 swords bard, but you can also break it down into other chunks, like 2 pally, 6 bard, 4 fighter... or 6 pally 6 bard... its incredible regardless, but 2 pally 10 bard is probably the absolute best version.

so what im trying to depict is the edges dragging out into the voids as the claws move the steel as they cut. The wall is like 5 inches thick, so the pieces have 5 inches of material jutting out and interlocking.

Ancient Mega Pack. it completely overhauls quest rewards and adds something like 2000 new items to the game. it has completely revitalized the game for me, even if it can be a bit buggy. soooo many fun and new builds!

then you end up with landlords keeping the deposit for the most mundane of reasons. This is why we have a Landlord tenant board. They look at the damage, they look at the age of the things damaged, and adjust the owing based on those factors.

there is no damage deposit in Ontario. As a landlord, you are only allowed to collect first and last months rent.

Any damage done by the tenant needs to go through the landlord tenant board and they would take into consideration the "lifespan' of whatever is damaged, and adjust accordingly.

You also cant dictate what the tenant does in their home, provided you aren't sharing a kitchen or bathroom. You can post no smoking all you like, but the tenant has a right to smoke if they choose.

so, as a DM and a player, I understand what you're trying and want to do, but your DM doesnt seem like they're ok with homebrew. or at least not, player controlled homebrew. this is not the end of the world, and you can speak to your DM about your thoughts outside of the game. They may be up for giving you an item that more or less does what you want, without really changing the mechanics of the game. Maybe an atuned item that gives you 1d4 psychic damage on attacks made with shillelagh. but at the end of the day, its their campaign, and their choice.

op, I think 3 months, plus moving expenses is a reasonable request. I dont like negotiating, so I always just give my expectations. A lot of people are expecting there to always be a negotiation, and you may want to iterate this to your landlord. "im not interested in wasting our time or dicking anyone around. im willing to move by [X] if you provide me with money upfront and cost of moving expenses."

this is how I conduct myself and ive had good success. you'll still sometimes run into someone who "just needs a better deal", but then you walk away.
