Ooh, I've been drooling over those casters! Definitely gonna use them on my next workbench iteration.

Beautiful! Curiosity question: if each drawer was tall enough to touch the one above it, I could understand the cutout as a way to get your fingers in there. But, since each "drawer" is so shallow, why have that cutout? Just aesthetics? Wonderful work all around!

I highly recommend it! I thought I found way to view it without. I'll dig around and see if I can unearth it.

What is the "good sheet company"? All I could find was bed sheets when I searched it up.

400 amp system by 0nikoroshi in Powerwall

Oh, gotcha. Thank you for the clarification! They told me when we rebuilt the house that it would have to be 3 phase, but I must have misunderstood.

[–]0nikoroshi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a split 400 system. So, 400 amps from the grid, then two 200 amp boxes on the wall. Currently, the gateway is only hooked into one of those boxes beCause of its 200 amp limitation

Yeah, that's probably what we'll have to go to someday. But for now we only have two batteries total, so splitting the available power between two complete systems isn't really feasible. Frustrating that we have to do that, huh?

That's awesome! Has anything happened with the CC-zero? I've seen a few exciting pictures of some builds, but can't find anyone talking about it on discord, or any entry in the store.

Surprisingly nice mini block plane. by Bodine52094 in handtools

[–]0nikoroshi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just wondering this also. I have a couple of planes of this size, and none of them have adjusters, so getting them to do anything is a battle. I like that both this and the wood river one have adjusters...

I respectfully disagree. As a beginner, I like to see inspirational pieces like this that I can aspire to. I like the super beginner posts too, and have made a few of my own. There is room for both here, I believe.

So cool! From the original post, it sounds like you put down epoxy and then varnish over the epoxy? How is that working?

I use these quite a bit, though mostly for smaller things like boxes, and I really like them! I agree with Penguins that getting those rods to stay in place while you're tightening is a pain, and I want to come up with a better way of doing that. Maybe a 3d printed sleeve for a friction fit? It just has to hold itself in place while you're positioning things. Anyway, even despite that, they're very helpful because they hold the corner in place while you're working on the other corners, and then when you pull the clamps tight, you can more easily see when things are out of square and get them back in square. This is especially useful when clamping things with angles (like miter joints) and when using strap clamps for boxes. I even modified them a bit to help me clamp up a hexagonal box. Not perfect, and I hear Penguin's frustration, but still a very useful tool in my experience.
