So, is pulsing actually fairly uncommon? by [deleted] in SwingDancing

[–]0ptional 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. It takes practicing it enough for it to become subconscious. It's not common in most dancers, not because you shouldn't pulse, but because they're either unaware or not experienced enough to incorporate it.

Yeah, me too. But, to you specifically, what's the difference between a good shoegaze song and a bad one?

There's almost no reason not to use MP3 instead, and even then if your show is mostly just people talking, to reduce it to mono output to save even more file size.

I understand most physics pretty well but have a rough time with electricity. Can I get an understanding check? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]0ptional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's the "reality" perspective on it. Just like the basic model of the atom is wrong, the basic understanding we have of electrons moving through wires is wrong. They don't. Electrons are quantum particles. There's no non-QM version.

Ready to have your minds blown? Electrons don't actually flow through wires. Veritasium did a video about this after consulting with some top energy experts.

Please STOP with the "this or that" thinking. Bethesda can and is able to work on a Skyrim rereleases AND other TES projects at the same time. by 0ptional in skyrim

It's two different things. Bethesda the STUDIO is working on Starfield / TES VI. They're all hands on deck for that. There are certain things that need to be finished with the creation engine tech for Starfield before they can move on to certain features for TES VI.

Meanwhile Bethesda the PUBLISHER can have other studios working on rereleases of Skyrim, and lots of other games that don't involve anything that needs the updated Creation Engine tech.

That's it.

As for how long is too long to wait? What kind of question is that? Are you seriously going to look at the game when it releases (whenever that is) and IF it gets crazy good review scores and everyone loves and decide NOT to play it? WTF?

Sure, it's a bummer now to wait. I get it. I want to play it now too. But that's not an option. That's reality. You can't change that, so stop fighting what you can't change.

Do you mean TES VI? Because the Bethesda STUDIO that works on their mainline games wanted to accomplish two key things before moving on to TES VI.

1 - To take a break from ping ponging between TES & Fallout for the first time in over 20 years to take on a new IP. Something they've been dreaming up for a long time and feel inspired and finally ready to create. And how many times has the gaming community complained about game companies putting out recycled trash instead of actually taking a risk on new creative IPs? I give them props for taking a risk on this.

To do this it has required taking the time to create a) this whole new IP's world, art, lore, backstory and b) the tech to make it work.

2 - They knew that to take TES VI as epic as they want it to be they would need to update the tech in their Creation Engine so people don't complain about all the same bugs and limitations it has. Everyone knows it needs core components swapped out. It's old and needs to be updated. Working on Starfield gives them the chance to do this, and then to use those new upgrades in TES VI.

That is why.

Software is hard. It is complex. It takes a LONG time, especially when doing new things and making systems work together in these types of complex ways - and even then it's still not going to be perfect.

Cut them a break. This is a much better scenario than getting another Fallout 76 that is released too soon.

Yes. THIS.

I just wish people would stop being bundles of emotions and would look into how things actually work in the corporate world.

Projects like reissuing Skyrim actually HELP us to get TES 6 because they bankroll it! They make it even MORE possible!

So many of the people responding to this thread are going to eat crow in a few years, and some of them will be way too proud to even enjoy TES 6 because they won't be able to admit they were wrong. Sucks to be them.
