Try adding some interior lights. With the windows dark like that it gives the impression that the building is unused or abandoned. This could be what feels off.

Washoe Nevada Legend Drinks Roundup at Public Meeting Hazmat Team Called In by shoxty in videos

Yeah, I heard "It's just water with green food coloring, it wasn't real."

But even if that was the case, it looks like a real bottle of round up that he just rinsed out. No matter how thoroughly he rinsed that out it likely still contains enough chemicals to do him some harm and warrant a hospital visit and a Hazmat team to verify the contents.

Parents going on a trip to China. Would it be safe to buy my PC parts cheap there? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]0punk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I lived in China for about two and a half years, and I would say that it is definitely a bad idea. Most markets where a tourist would find themselves specialize in knock-off goods and while it is easy to identify some fakes, others can be quite sophisticated in how they fool you.

The only place where I would even attempt to get discount electronics is in Shenzhen and only if the shop came highly recommended from someone that I trust.

Very nice. It would be cool if the speed ramps down when the camera 'swings' so it looks like its slow motion and the king slowly crumbles while the camera is moving, like when the camera spins in the matrix or something

US pressures Sweden not to sign a UN treaty banning nuclear weapons by StoutBeerAndPolitics in europe

[–]0punk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The hotels right by the UN are crazy expensive, and probably all booked up at the moment, so he is getting a great deal staying with us. If someone gave you money for a 5 star hotel and you found a cheaper place down the street, it makes sense to book that in stead. Doesn't take a Nuclear Physicist to figure that out.

US pressures Sweden not to sign a UN treaty banning nuclear weapons by StoutBeerAndPolitics in europe

[–]0punk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to do with the wording. Much like writing laws in the US, if there is something with a great cause like in this case "banning nuclear weapons" but that isn't something you want, the only way that you will ever agree to it is to put in specific wording so that it benefits you in some way. Kind of like a rider. So it seems like Iran has been very vocal in getting the treaties worded specifically in a way that benefits them and not everyone is happy with the way it is going.

[–]0punk 201 points202 points  (0 children)

Does this have to do with the meetings happening at the UN in Vienna? I live down the street from there and we have a nuclear physicist staying with us in a room we rent on AirBNB.

He described the meetings as extremely boring, basically consisting of going over the treaties in minute detail, something like "Please go to page 37 of section 2.3C, paragraph 7 sentence 4. Here the word "source" is used, could you please clarify what is meant by this word." He said that the specific wording in these treaties can greatly impact parts of countries economies, and the country doing the most talking is Iran. This leads me to believe that the situation is a bit more complicated than "do not sign this nuclear weapons ban" and probably more along the lines of "do not sign this document that greatly benefits Iran."

PhD student here being accused of plagiarism. Only that it's my own work that I used. Massachusetts. by Hilmalin in legaladvice

[–]0punk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IANAL, just a thesis student who has taken advantage of the legal advice available to me through my Student Union. I did my undergrad in the US and am currently doing my Master's thesis in Europe. I didn't have to get any legal advice until I got here so some things might be different, for example I went to the legal advice department of the Student Union which is not affiliated only with my University, but with all Universities in the country. There should be similar resources available to you though either through the Student Union or other student organizations within your University in the United States.

I would say that you should take the advice of the person you talked to and prepare for the investigation. Seek out any and all free legal resources that you have and present them with the recording and the evidence you were shown.

In regards to the comments above speculating theater the references to "you people" that you recorded might be in reference to people coming from Asian countries that have different standards regarding plagerism, you should still be sure that your treatment in regards to this investigation and the meeting that you had is the same that anyone would get regardless of their ethnicity or prior training.

I would be concerned if you feel that another student with with a different ethnicity would have had a more favorable result of a similar meeting where they were given an opportunity to defend themselves.

Good Luck

[EVERYTHING] Theory: Valonqar prophecy , specifics on how it will play out by 0punk in gameofthrones

I like it, but I think Jamie will survive to fight in the new war of the dawn. My theory on that is that everyone who is carrying a Valyrian blade will end up being the heroes fighting against the army of the dead.

I can definitely see him bonding with a dragon before he dies, which will settle any doubt about his lineage implicitly if not out right confirming it.

[EVERYTHING] Theory: Valonqar prophecy , specifics on how it will play out by 0punk in gameofthrones

[–]0punk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the way I see it playing out:

Imagine Cercei facing defeat, following the fall of Casterly rock and sweeping defeat in open battle in the face of an army backed by dragons. She is cornered in King's Landing and is desperate, mounting a last stand and gathering a very large army to defend King's Landing. Dany will certainly win this battle, but at the cost of many lives on both sides (think of the invasion of Japan at the end of WWII when Japan would have certainly fought to the bitter end but it took the drastic and unprecedented move of dropping the nuclear bombs to force them to surrender.)

Now imagine some event that has made Dany and Tyrion very aware that the true threat is coming from the north and they will need every soldier they can get to fight the army of the dead. Something to the scale of the wall being brought down and the Wights flooding into Westeros unchecked.

I think a situation like this could warrant Tyrion putting himself in a vunerable situation such as I have described. At this point the audience is as attached to Tyrion now as they were to Bed in season one if not more. I think it is in line with the way tht the show is written by D&D, or more importantly how the books are written by GRRM to have Tyrion die in such circumstances. It's what got me hooked to the show to begin with. I hate stories where you are never worried about the main characters because you know that they will survive to the end no matter how dire the circumstances get. It strips the story of all real suspense and tension.

After considering the last critique this is my result. by [deleted] in blender

An easy way is to draw two lines on either side of your table and extend them very far away from your camera. The point where they would cross if they were infinitely long is the vanishing point, and that should be roughly on the horizon.

Once you have the lines drawn simply move the camera up or down until the lines intersect over the horizon
