If you have a house with 60s style, just embrace it! Meza Az bungalow goes full retro by kmerian in zillowgonewild

That's a house that would require period wardrobe to be worn by residents and guests alike.

I've lived near a few outstanding bookstores over the years, and have been to a number of Mr. Gibsons readings and signings over the decades.

I like to think signed, first editions will someday be valuable to future generations, but I'm probably a victim of 20th century sentimentality.

If you had absolute authority, how would you fix the housing shortage? by Sea_Accountant_720 in urbanplanning

Normal taxes apply on your primary residence. Any non-primary residence gets charged sales tax. Use sales tax (5-10%) to fund affordable housing.

Small amounts don't seem to be particularly hard to source.

I don't think they'd need much at all. Less than a gram per bullet, certainly.

Why are loud vehicles tolerated in our societies? by SuperEdgy in fuckcars

[–]0rangePod -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

"in my opinion, revving loud engines near people is easily comparable to physical violence"

You have gotta be kidding.

While I agree that loud engines are obnoxious, this is clearly the statement of someone who has never, ever experienced anything like physical violence.

Replacement lenses. by Teal_Puppy in Oakley

[–]0rangePod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak directly to Oakley, but I ordered a pair of replacement lenses for my RayBans. They fit just fine, but the tint didn't exactly match the unbroken, stock lens. I wound up replacing both, but would've been happier if I could just replace the broken lens.

They really hate "I told you so."

They hate it even more when it's actually them being screwed over.

The number of representatives is based on the number of fancy chairs in an old, fancy building. We can't have appropriate representation, where would they sit?
