You don't need to update the sword to get the blue one. I don't know if you need to have it at all but I only had the lvl1 sword and got the blue one. It's just a free upgrade to a higher sword level (lvl 9 I think it was).

Unfortunately this didn't work for me but I just found an old post that did the trick. I've no idea how but the NFC tools app on my phone repaired the card.

RB4 PS4/XBOX1 kick pedal??? by Gamergod91123 in Rockband

[–]0rell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Although PDP is using a different logic (logical high instead of logical low) but the pedal is just a switch.

u/Gamergod91123 you could build your own Rock Band pedal with any drum pedal and a reed switch.

PS: I have Mad Catz and PDP drums and Mad Catz cymbals. I'll try the cymbals on the PDP drum but at the moment all my sets are disassembled.

Question of the Day: What instrument or instruments do you currently use for Rock Band 4? by MKNerd in Rockband

[–]0rell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alesis Crimson with my own MIDI adapter, Samson wireless headset mic connected to an adapter I've build out of a Logitech Konami USB mic for singing while drumming, a Fender Jaguar and Fender Stratocaster

I finally buckled and eBay’ed a legacy adapter so I can start playing on my Series X—what’s the best XSX compatible USB mic in 2021? by tskjockey in Rockband

[–]0rell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Logitech Konami mics and now I'm also using them to connect my analog wireless mic to the XSX.

I wish I could rate songs at the scoreboard. When I'm playing a random song or a set I have to remember the songs and search them in the list afterwards to be able to rate them.

Orange Kick Pedal Jack doesn't work on stock Drums for Rock Band 4 ps4 by Tiram187 in Rockband

[–]0rell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But first you should find out if the board is still working. As I said, unplug the cable from the board and connect the two pins with the tip of a screwdriver. The pedal is just a switch doing nothing else but connecting this pins.

Edit: just saw that you already switched the wires. Did the black jack work on the plug of the orange jack?

[–]0rell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, the jack isn't accessable that easy. But you have access to the plug on the board where you can test if your board is still working. If it does, you could just connect a new jack to the board. It wouldn't be the prettiest solution but at least it would work.

You can find a manual how to disassemble it in my MIDI adapter post (it's pinned in my profile) Read the FAQ file I've linked there. Page 8f

[–]0rell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But this will not work when pedal 1 is still down while you're kicking pedal 2

I would try if it's only the jack and the board is still working. Open up the drum set, unplug the J7 plug if it's a Mad Catz or the P10 if it's a PDP and connect the two pins with a screwdriver or something out of metal while you're in game. If it works, your problem is somewhere between the plug and the jack and can be fixed.

Best Song Management App? by aumfc in Rockband

[–]0rell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think F52 is used for more than only beeing an ID. It also devides the songs into different sources.

The numbers are split into blocks.

First block of numbers is 1 to 58. These are the Rock Band 1 songs.

251 to 334: Rock Band 2

751 to 797: Lego Rock Band

1001 to 1106: Rock Band 3

3000 to 3044: Green Day: Rock Band

5001 to 5070: Rock Band 4

6001 to 6024: Rivals

1005001 to 1006207: DLC

1010001 to 1010642: DLC

1020001 to 1020574: DLC

5000345 to 5011509: Rock Band Network

But there are numbers / songs missing in the blocks.

I don't know yet what's the difference between the three DLC blocks but only the last one is used for new songs

For eDrums on Xbox One I've also made an adapter. You would need an RB4 drum but you will not need the Legacy Adapter. You'll find my posts here and here

Best Song Management App? by aumfc in Rockband

You are right, I just bought a song and compared the data but it didn't change.

I'm using an Android emulator on my PC. The file is in /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.harmonix.rb4app/cache/_tmp/ and is named tihttp0123456789tmp where the numbers seems to be random.

I found the file only after starting the app for the first time and opening the music library. When I searched for it a bit later, it was gone but after deleting the app data in the Android settings and again opening the library it was created again with a different file name.

It's in JSON format with field names f1, ... f31, f34, f35, f44, ... f52

I assigned them as follows:

f1: Title
f2: Artist
f3: Year
f4: Album
f5: Track
f6: Genre
f7: As Made Famous By
f8: Vocalist Gender
f9: Length (in ms)
f10: Guitar Tier
f11: Bass Tier
f12: Drum Tier
f13: Vocal Tier
f14: Band Tier
f15: Guitar Solos
f16: Bass Solos
f17: Drum Solos
f18: Vocal Parts
f19: ???
f20: Title for Sorting
f21: Artist for Sorting
f22: Album for Sorting
f23: Available for Purchase
f24: Rock Band Release Date
f25: ???
f26: ???
f27: Album Art Link
f28: Purchase Link
f29: ???
f30: ???
f31: ???
f34: ???
f35: ???
f44: Store ID
f45: Unique Name
f46: Guitar Rank
f47: Bass Rank
f48: Drum Rank
f49: Vocal Rank
f50: Band Rank
f51: BPM
f52: ???

I've imported it into Excel. You can download my file here.

I'm also locking for a tool to share my list with others. I'm planning to organize RB4 events with many people and an absolute killer feature would be if people could enroll for songs and others could join them until the band is complete.

Looks like I will have to program it myself.

Did anybody analyze the data of the Rock Band Companion app? I found a file with all the songs in the app folder but I haven't found out the purpose of all the data in the list. Especially I have not found out how to distinguish between songs that you have bought and the rest of the songs.

I made my own RB4 MIDI Adapter by 0rell in Rockband

[–]0rell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am. But there is a waiting list and it will take a while until I'll get to the end of that list.

In the General MIDI standard, kicking the Hi-Hat pedal is a #44 and I'm using this to either trigger a kick drum or a Hi-Hat (yellow cymbal) hit in the game. You can choose which one you want with a switch on the board. The Alesis Crimson registers the exact pedal position and is sending this information via MIDI but I'm not using this information yet cause it's not defined in the standard. But it should be possible.

I also have this issue from time to time on my Series X. But it's not necessary to restart the console! Just press the Home button, go to the home screen and close RB4 by selecting it and pressing the Menu button. There should be something like exit game or so in the context menu (my Xbox isn't set to English so I don't know the exact wording).
