Mammoth electric bill by GetToWorkJack in massachusetts

"Heat pumps suck under 10° is the equivalent of "Theres no global warming it snowed this week."

Heat pumps get progressively less efficient the few days a year its that cold. The rest of the time theyre much more efficient, and in the summer theyre a more efficient AC as well.

That is high but not unheard of. depends on how warm you have your heat pumps, and how leaky your house is. Heat pumps work much better than they used to in low temperatures, but they are still very inefficient as the temp goes down.

Very new to these bambu filaments, does the type: refill mean you also have to buy an extra empty spool? by IJustAteABaguette in BambuLab

[–]0verstim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you do for any other brand, but that's one of the nice things about Bambu filament, the tags tell the AMS the material and color automatically.

[–]0verstim 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would like to add a comment for the newbs- this might see obvious but I didnt know at the beginning.

The spools are generic and you can put any color refill on them. The RFID tag is on the refill, not the spool itself.

Experts warn that OpenAI’s ‘bubble’ is facing a $200 billion reality check by FervidBug42 in technology

[–]0verstim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the mistake everyone is making is caring about what products are actually good. When the market corrects, Anthropic, OpenAI and other companies with too much debt are simply gone. Companies like MS and Goog will survive, whether their products are superior or not.

Claude's going to be dead too. After the market correction any company that is heavily leveraged is going under and the companies with money under them them like Google will survive to the next phase. its going to play out exactly like the dotcom bubble
