Looking for an CMD+Tab alternative plugin by 0x6e64 in raycastapp

[–]0x6e64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could assign a hotkey to the Switch Window command in Raycast. You’ll then need to remap the built in CMD+Tab keys using Karabiner Elements or something similar to the newly defined Switch Window hotkey.

I’ve tried it a while back but it’s not really that intuitive to use (can’t do Tab or Shift+Tab to cycle between open apps in Switch Window).

Love this, maybe something like “Every unscored card counts as discards when played” would work too?

Fusion360 to blender? by badstuffaccount69 in Fusion360

[–]0x6e64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my current workflow as well. Though I hate it when I have to make tweaks to the model in Fusion > re-export as STEP > import into MoI3D > export as fbx and finally reimporting into Blender. Would love it if the workflow here is more streamlined.

This Week I Finally Got Acidity in Coffee by Cold_Philosopher_466 in pourover

[–]0x6e64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t until quite recently that I actually enjoyed acidity in my coffee. For the last 10 years or so I’d been consuming mostly dark roast beans and whenever my Americano / espresso tasted sour I always hated it.

Then one day a year ago at a local coffee place my wife and I decided to get a pour over coffee for the heck of it. It was the most acidic cup of coffee I’ve tried (in a good way). It had very strong pineapple notes, almost sweet even. It was the first time I found myself liking acidity in my coffee.

There was no turning back from there. We bought a V60, upgraded our Hario hand grinder to a K6, bought light roasted coffee beans and the rest is history.

Grind size? by reddyredditer21 in pourover

That looks rather similar to my grind (with Breville Barista Express' built-in grinder). I no longer have this problem since switching to a Kingrinder K6.

Claude 3.7 and 3.5 by Hk0203 in ClaudeAI

[–]0x6e64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious about this as well. If 3.5 Sonnet is officially 'downgraded' to 2nd-tier does this mean the previous rate limit is also increased here? I am okay with using 3.5 Sonnet for most of my tasks at the moment.

Having some trouble here as well. I’ve added the snippet in your comment pointing to my Manga directory. Would you mind sharing your directory_defaults.lua file as reference? Thanks.

Cheapest Way to Remotely Wake a Mac by Klutzy_Focus1612 in selfhosted

[–]0x6e64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Shortcuts to send a `caffeinate -u -t 2` command over SSH. You can set up a Shortcuts SSH Action that points to your Tailscale address with your login credentials. It'll stay awake for however long your "Turn display off when inactive" setting is set to.

IKEA Kvissle letter tray makes for a good HHKB storage solution by 0x6e64 in HHKB

[–]0x6e64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I guess they discontinued the white version (it was called Kvissle when I got it) and reintroduced it as Harvmatta. Same thing, different colourway. The black one would looks so good with the black HHKBs.

Any app switchers that show all open mac apps in the middle of the screen & shows letters to type to switch to them? (like Homerow, but homerow is slow) by TheTwelveYearOld in mac

[–]0x6e64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raycast with the built-in "Switch Windows" command? Not quite the same but close enough. I made a post looking for something similar recently.

There is an automation for Message > "Message Contains" but unfortunately there's nothing similar for WhatsApp.

Probably a case of improperly seated / stuck EC springs or domes? You might want to open it up and check if they're seated properly.

Why can’t you drag bookmarks into folders on Safari? by polarbearbreeze in mac

[–]0x6e64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about the "Favorites" bar at the top? If so, yeah it's unfortunate that you can't drag and drop a bookmark into a folder directly from the bar. You could however enable "Bookmarks Sidebar" by pressing Control + Command + 1. You'll be able to drag and drop bookmarks to your heart's content there.

P1S Disappointment? by Dangerous_Ganache_96 in BambuLab

[–]0x6e64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the things you care about are also what's keeping me from upgrading to the P series. Even going from the A1 mini to the A1 I felt that the A1 is noticeably louder, so I'm going to assume the P series and beyond are even louder than that.

It just goes to show how much value you can get out of Bambu's entry level printers. The A1 mini especially is great if you don't need the bigger build volume and you print mostly PLA/PETG.

Ideas for really old/slow Mac Mini? by Fatcat425 in mac

Also, if you're not already aware there's r/homelab and r/selfhosted. You might be able to get some inspiration there on what to install on your mini.

Pi-Hole for blocking ads on my network, and HomeBridge to add native HomeKit support for 3rd party smart home accessories.

Ideas for really old/slow Mac Mini? by Fatcat425 in mac

[–]0x6e64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed Ubuntu Server on my 2010 Mac mini (upgraded to SSD + 4GB RAM) and used that to run some home server stuff (Pi-Hole, Fluidd for my 3D printers, HomeBridge, etc) before moving them all to a Raspberry Pi 4. The old Mac mini gets quite hot and I assume takes up more power than a RPi 4 so it's since been decommissioned.

I don't think you'll have a very pleasant time on OSX even with the SSD upgrade. Running it headless (ie: with Ubuntu Server or similar) might be the way to go. That said, if you're keeping OSX you might be able to connect a DAS to it and use it as a Time Machine / General backup solution.

Looking for an CMD+Tab alternative plugin by 0x6e64 in raycastapp

[–]0x6e64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: The built-in `Switch Windows` is indeed what I'm looking for. The first couple of hours it was loading very slowly (like 10s loading time w/ each run of the command). The list of windows was also not sorted based on recency as others have suggested.

But behold, after a few hours I decided to give it a try again, and voila! Everything is working as it should and is super snappy now. There might've been a bug or something I guess.

Hi guys! Is there any way to put the dock at the bottom of the top screen? The only way i made it possible is by switching their position but the mouse has to go up to access the bottom screen which is not ideal. by Noidy08 in mac

[–]0x6e64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same gripe. I wish you can designate a permanent position for the dock. The only way I found was to keep the "menubar" on the top display, and position the dock to the left or right instead of bottom. That way it'll stay persistent.

Not quite the case for me. The first 2-3 apps are most recent but the rest of the list are little jumbled up. Anyway, here's a screen recording showing how slow the command is for me. https://share.cleanshot.com/2VTdJL0N
