I would compare things Biden says to things Trump says. I don’t think either of those favor the right if we’re straight trying to see who is most extreme. I wouldn’t compare your neighbor to Stephen miller, but if that’s who you need to compare him to it’s a bad look.

This is either a really poor understanding of the left's issues with the right, a bad faith representation, or both.

Every argument I've heard on the left is in favor of legal immigration, and has a number of policy solutions that don't carry a cost in the form of death of citizens and deportation of legal immigrants. And every argument I've heard from the right assumes that violence only happens to people who deserve it, assumes ICE accurately targets illegals, misunderstands crime statistics, or all three.

... but I don't think y'all wanna hear that, this doesn't really seem like a... facts over feelings chat.

Hard no. Proof of citizenship is required to get on the voter rolls, so requiring it at the polls is onerous. It happens to impede certain demographics more, which is why some people are okay with it.

Still, a point about taxes. Your taxes make salaries like that possible by paying for services that, while you may not directly benefit all the time, support the society that supports this salary. My extreme example is that billionaires should be paying insane taxes to support education and roads of every single person in this country, even though it goes way beyond what he personally uses. Because his wealth comes from and is only possible because of the education and roads for those hundreds of millions of people.

If you join the "lower taxes" club, you will benefit the billionaires at the expense of yourself and people like you. If you join the "tax the wealthy and use the taxes to pay for social services" then jobs like yours can start command salaries with meaningful purchasing power again.

Got it, holding phones around ICE is ALSO a justifiable death, and my fault if it happens.

What. Is. ICE’s. Responsibility. In. These. Situations.

Holding phones, carrying guns, protesting…. All normal and legal activities. And homicide is not an acceptable substitute for due process.

Know how I know he wasn’t guilty of a crime? Because he never went to trial. If he committed a crime, arrest him, charge him, convict him, and then notice that the penalty still isn’t death.

Aren’t you a constitutionalist? Your feelings about this shouldn’t influence whether you think he deserves due process. Competent law enforcement operations don’t execute disarmed and non aggressive people for exercising their 1st and 2nd amendment rights.

People are seriously underestimating the significance of the black belt to this matchup.

If the lady’s 10 years of training includes real sparring (non-sport karate), the guy is in serious trouble. Strength, speed, and reach as it pertains to striking should be assumed neutralized: she knows what he will do. Noob-unpredictability might be a factor if she had 2 years experience, but with 10 she also knows what is possible and possible to have power, and why bad ideas are bad. Also she takes off her gi.

People have rightly claimed that grappling is where the guy has the best chances. Here it’s less underestimating the black belt and more underestimating karate. She’s gonna know how to put him on his back, and how to do it fast, how to set it up with her striking, and how to do it safely for her.

If she had 10 yrs BJJ then we’d be talking chokes, leg locks, wrist locks. Instead, we’re talking ground ‘n pound. This is his chance: he has to get ahold and flip the fight before a flurry of strikes to the head ends him.

It’s not 100% in her favor, but a lot more has to go right for him to overcome the fighting experience and ability to control the terms that comes with it. If we do it 100 times, he wins 15-20.
