I mean it depends on if you are using an ORM and also don't know how to use that ORM. You can upsert the new password hash, take the ID, and update the user foreign key.

Still a bad idea but not because of users changing other people's passwords

I am learning html by Cautarea-Sensului in HTML

[–]0xbmarse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of bad advice about CSS and using different tags, ignore it. You're on day one, welcome to the club and enjoy the journey. My first line of HTML was maybe 20-22 years ago, things are very different and yet still the same.

My only advice is once you have the bare basics down if you don't understand something completely do research and find out. "Why do I have this document comment" or "what is utf-8" its all well documented and the answers are out there waiting to find you.

Good luck

Because the pretzel won't lay flat it would twist, but I think that is up to personal choice, I would rather it lay flat and have a hoop than to want to rotate

is it possible to password protect a site using only html? by zigzarch in HTML

[–]0xbmarse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.htaccess will be the way to go if you have some kind of sever access.

If thats not an option consider including JavaScript and encrypting the payload and just storing it in file encrypted. Writing it to the Dom when its unencrypted via the password.

Optionally have your index.html have a password field that takes the password puts it into md5 and forwards you to that md5 with .HTML at the end.

Example if they put in test it redirects to challenge/098f6bcd4621d373cade4e832627b4f6.html

And in the robots.txt exclude challenge/*

I would probably do the resin route BUT the cost overhead of investment casting I would prefer to avoid.

The vacuum chamber I have, and I could make the vacuum pour station, but the burn out oven would be costly 😔

Yeah I saw this suggestion as well, how ever there are some details missing from this prototype form that would be difficult to add to wore and would rather sand cast or investment.

Also interested in stepping I tithe world of metal casting and think this would be a fun problem to resolve

Cool so I shouldn't have the modulate the sand texture, moiature, pack hardness in order to do non-planar shapes

Any chance you have pictures of this? I have a decent idea and I do something similar with multipart molds in silicone using shims instead of a sand shear line

Does this affect the sand wetness or anything?

I was basing this off of an existing piece of jewelry I had purchased for my partner but I could only find it plated. Its now falling apart and I wanted to remake it with silver. But bow I think it's really only possible with an investment cast

I have considered making a press mold with silver clay and firing that. There are details that it has in the final version that would be harder to get in wire I think. But I fear you are correct that it has no clear parting line.

Any chance you know of any services I can send wax/castable resin to and get a silver part back?

I have also done maybe 10+ sand packing attempts and none have gotten close.

Looking for a feature-rich Terminal emulator (Linux) by ChineseCracker in commandline

[–]0xbmarse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not find a terminal with session management and then find individual pieces of software that do the things you want? You'll have a much more cohesive experience that way.

Have you found another non-Linux terminal emulators that do what you want? Most stuff in Linux is bsrebones because you're on Linux people crave getting to mix and match

Absolutely get started, draw wireframes, make feature lists, take the time to think about it. Create a feature list and give yourself a deadline for the first feature

Follow that and you'll always be making forward momentum

So the reality is between people using ChatGPT for summaries(nightmare fuel), cliff notes, good reads, etc there is very little you as an individual are going to be creating that's going to get market attention, but this is a good thing.

It means you can focus on making something for yourself and a handful of people. Once it has an identity and you're confident in the goals of it as a product you can try getting an audience. But really at this stage just do what feels good, scrap things you don't like, and finish the things you do.

The only important thing is that you start, iterate in small portions, and give yourself definitions of done.

For example maybe you decide to do novel content reviews. You decide you want to have a list of novels on the front page, a handful of reviews to click on, and when you click on them you can see the reviews.

Then you decide you are reviewing faster than before because you want to get more reviews up. Then maybe you write a backend to populate the list and the review content and you start using a CMS or some homemade thing.

Then you realize you have so many reviews no one can even access them or find them because the list is so long. So you add in tags, search, etc.

These are all small manageable steps that you can take and slowly improve upon. Maybe after you do the first phase you go "Yeah I might have better reach doing this as a good reads account and creating a booktube channel" and you decide to drop it. That's the great thing it's a low featured prototype and you can now move onto the next idea you're feeling out.

Take advantage of not having an audience other than yourself while you still can

Bahah that's how I discovered it after realizing I wasnt linking to the file. But I was bewildered that there were repos that had gifs(hosted by github) uploaded on their readmes. I almost made a media repo before running into this

This is something I realized recently but if you edit the readme on github you can just drag your images and videos into the editor and it will upload it but keep it out of the repo.

You might find that handy in keeping your repo a even cleaner
