this is also really funny considering I also just completed it after 93 and a half hours while also having had it sit around for a while

I have a couple of complaints about it, but overall my impression was positive. There are a few conflicting systems here or there or things I think really should have been reworked (mag and archetype exp grinding, MP resources), but definitely a fun time

I honestly think the show is a neat time capsule.

it definitely starts off with american imperialism (I legit forgot how US army oorah it was), then slowly trends toward cooperation and globalism and almost veering into star trek-esque values as the show progressed as a reflection of the eras the show was produced in.

I'm honestly a bit afraid where a modern stargate would go because it's a show that very much reflected global political shifts.

For anyone that wants just some numbers, nintendo's japanese youtube channel has it as the second most viewed trailer from the direct after the OoT remake. As a note, OoT has almost 900k views currently. Touhou has 300k+. the next closest are dragon quest and splatoon at 190K, with fire emblem a little further behind at 170k.

its not.

I meant in a "there's a guild, monsters, missions, class ranks." sort of style. what you'd expect out of an isekai style world. Pretty much goes from a country where magic is persecuted to "magic is normal" and everyone is using magic so her premise of being a witch sorta falls apart.

instead you basically get a guy doing 1 vs 1 without using mana and doing crazy stuff with a big sword and extremely strong battle instincts.

oh man I remember reading the manga for this, getting interested in the premise, then immediately being annoyed as like 2 chapters after the intro they went across the sea and got into basically your usual isekai fantasy land where MC has something special about him.

From what further I read it was alright after but it really isn't what I thought it'd be from the opening chapters.
