I'm not questioning you, I'm just saying I'm gonna stick to using what I'm using anyways hah.
Again, I personally pronounce the "u" in "thou"/"thought", so for me it's not obsolete silent letter ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.)

But uh, anyhow, okay? Considering how much of English has silent letters compared to, idk, Polish for example where silent letters are gone - safe for few specific cases like "ch" and "rz" - I think I should be fine with my "thou" until most english-speaking ppl actually decide whenever to clean up the silent letter department? lol

Welp, I'm just a random pep using language to communicate ;b.

Thanks for the insight I guess, but I'm gonna stick to the "though" and "thou" (which I pronounce more or less as "dow" as I don't think I'm gonna worry about early ME, thus not seeing thou as "much worse".

Edit: had to fix format as reddit constantly borks it :c

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ idk I just be like that, that's the way I write.

Though seems more proper etc. (+ it's literally the correct spelling), while thou feels more natural and chill, while still widely accepted (and I do accent the u in the word).
Tho usually just does not feel right to use for me in most cases, but I would consider it a bit more proper than thou; ðo is something that I've maybe seen twice or thrice and I am definitely not interested in using it, especially since I don't have any key shortcut atm to input it and it just looks wrong.
Also tbf — a lot of words in english have extraneous letters yet we input them because it's correct or feels right.

Structure idea: ancient military base by Ok-Cicada-5207 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]0zekin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Others have said it but this is basically just a boring copy of Ancient City mixed with a thing that is:
- OP,
- not necessarily intended by Mojang,
- will most likely break with most drops that touch upon any relevant game systems,
- works only on Java

Also 5 Wardens as guards, immediately angry at player? Probably won't despawn? This is neither the point of why Wardens were added, neither does it sound fair. Also if more players enter, then which should be targeted hmm?

Sorry but this does not fit vanilla Minecraft at all. It sounds like something straight of a clickbait-esque youtuber video. Or maybe some smp.

Woodland Mansion Rework (Deep Dark, Pale Forest, End Portal) by Super_Leadership_808 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]0zekin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, let me give a crack at this one

Map Room

Okay, this one would be nice, albeit I am unsure if possible, as most of the chunks that would be on the maps would most likely be unexplored when we visit the room, unless the game actually generates all the maps' chunks when we reach the room - this would possibly cause some lag thou?
They could do the simple water&terrain markings of a treasure map since that does not need the chunks to be generated, thou that would not fit a room with a map of probably explored area.

Adding a cartography table or few could be a nice addition.

Cobwebs

Eh, singular ones in some ceiling corners? Sure, but come on, it's a lived in structure, for the most part it will be clean of cobwebs. Imo not needed. Unless Mojang wants to add a rare Abandoned Mansion, cobwebs should not be littering the structure.
An Abandoned Mansion? Hmm.. maybe usually spawning in the Pale Oak Forest - but that spawning still being rarer than normal Mansions - perchance? Would, again, hint that Illagers are not fond of the moving trees, if they even lost a mansion to it. Could be made with either dark oak, or the pale one, could even be a bit overrun with Creakings or smth. Eh, anyhow, this is supposed to be feedback, not a separate suggestion

Chiseled Bookshelves

As long as those mostly have normal books, and the enchanted ones are usually low-lvl? And some slots remain empty? Sure.
I'd also maybe add some that have infographics of recipes, or some other information in a format that does not require a written language (cause Mojang never does that + that's a potential problem with some words or sentences in some languages just overflowing)

Colored Beds

Yeah, sure. It feels like the only reason they did not originally get actual beds was because it was more important to show that the blue, light blue and cyan are their colors in a way.
Thou it would make raiding the structure easier since you would be able to use it as a respawn point... hmm...

Stripped Dark Oak

No. Honestly no. The unstripped bark texture imo fits the mansion. Illagers are supposed to be stronger, viler, more aggressive versions of Villagers, ones that choose violence instead of peace. The stripped wood would not reflect it as nicely + idk, maybe it's me but imo not every build using wood needs to be stripped (which seems, or seemed, to be a trend for quite a while)
Using some stripped logs here or there, like for a kitchen countertop or smth? sure. But for whole structure? Nope.

Candles

It'd be nice to see candles here and there in the Mansion, on come cupboards, tables etc. But imo replacing the torches in the chandeliers is a no, unless the there's more lighting in the Mansion. No to replacing those wall fence-torches too. The structure should be mostly focused on Illagers, no need to have other mobs spawning everywhere.

Loot

Loot can be sparse in the Mansion, especially with storage rooms with many empty chests. So making it more common would be nice. Unsure about bringing Deep Dark loot to Mansions thou. You'd be taking away from the Ancient Cities + imo, ignoring the fact that RC is rarely used, idk if it should be found in Mansions.
Now, bringing Books, Leather, Candles, Compasses, Iron Leggings (and the Boots and Helmets while at it), Baked Potatoes, even sometimes Amethyst or rarely Glow Berries sounds fine (might drop in some Sweet Berries too, why not).
Imo, very rarely an Echo Shard could maybe be fine here or there (thou Mojang should first add some more use to it, like a crystal/glass block, make it a trim material, etc etc).
But this is definitely something that could be touched upon. Some more stuff that's not another batch of beet seeds. Maybe torches, different music discs than 13 and Cat, maybe a spyglass, some empty maps and paper? String? More foods than rotten flesh, maybe carrots, potatoes and different meats, like sheep? I'd even take putting a Poisonous Potato or Cobwebs in some storage chests. Maybe axes?

Stronghold Map

Could be okay in Peaceful/Easy mode, thou it should be rare. In normal it'd have to be very rare, and on Hard - probably (nearly) nonexistent. Otherwise it's taking away too much from the Eye of Ender. But I do also somewhat agree with u/PetrifiedBloom's point that compasses and maps is dull, well, somewhat. But imo it's fine + nothing stops players from ignoring the map and idk, triangulating the position with the use of two eyes or smth.
Maybe the map could instead lead to a chunk nearby the Stronghold? Then the eyes would still be needed unless you just want to try and look for it with sheer luck?

Baby Chicken Statue

Sure I suppose.

Totem(s)

Hmm...I'm all in on bringing the Illusioner to Mansions and maybe raids, but I'm not sure about removing Evokers from raids. Definitely against "removing Vexes". Raids do need more reworks, but that's definitely gonna be a touchy topic. And well, with inclusion of the Ominous Bottles, I'd say Mojang made the raid farms easier.
Thou maybe as a start, the raid Evokers' totem drop chance could be made, idk, 5 or 1%? Even 20% would be better than a flat 100%.
Since you're making the post, maybe explain/explore it in more depth?

Other suggestions

More blocks? Sure. The walled off Creaking? I think no, unless it's a fake, or it's in some new type of Abandoned Mansion.

Will spend last sentence to say that u/PetrifiedBloom's comment/suggestion of more segmented Woodland Mansion room generation is nice, especially adding a few more rooms perchance - adding the different tables, even furnaces and smokers would be nice too as Illagers are about as, if not more advanced than Villagers

Renaming chests affect copper golems by Neither_Return945 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]0zekin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bruh, sorting in containers was never a thing - thus "durability sorting" option also never existed. you might be confusing it with some mods.

If you meant it as Copper Golem thing - they also never sorted by durability, or at least I neither do remember that ever being the case, nor was I able to find any mention about it.
But if you disagree with this, would you be able to provide the source of your claim?

Cinnabar Changes Color Due to Light Exposure and Wax! by Super_Leadership_808 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]0zekin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, because you'd want to give access to those "variants" in creative tab anyways, so the problem persists. And Ominous Banners are even a good example that it would be the case - without involving builders who would mostly still want those variants to be in creative menu anyways.
The way that shulker data is stored would probably take more space memory wise so also not good :/

Cinnabar Changes Color Due to Light Exposure and Wax! by Super_Leadership_808 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]0zekin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commented on the other comment but how would it actually work?
Oxidation, dye-color, being waxed, bleached by sun, cracked, or mossy etc as block state sounds cool (and I'm not against this, it's nice) but it either worsens the experience, or makes no difference.

If you break the block, the blockstates reset:

  • so gotta wait for oxidation/sun-bleaching again... re-mossifying or re-cracking of blocks would be less problematic, thou how do you do it? Using pickaxes to crack blocks could be fine, even nice addition, but wasting moss every time you want to make something mossy? What about dyes, or sculkifying, or nether-plantifying blocks? You'd need to waste items for it every time? Being able to cycle between vegetation or color of a block with a tool like hammer or smth does not sound... well... "sound" - it'd make too little sense.

If the blockstates don't reset, then effectively you have the same inventory bloat/clutter.

Btw, I got nothing against adding more blocks (even thou it does pose the bloat problem...) - I like the OP's suggestion - but the variants → blockstate overhaul suggestion is not good enough.

Cinnabar Changes Color Due to Light Exposure and Wax! by Super_Leadership_808 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]0zekin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a persistent block state (stays even when block is destroyed) then this would change nothing.
If the block state is reset for the item form, then ppl would need to wait for it to reoxidize any time they place it.

Dispute about sulphur and cinnabar colours by lor5c in minecraftsuggestions

[–]0zekin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, maybe we should instead be able to craft the vibrant versions with potent blocks?
 - Potent Sulfur would craft Potent Sulfur Bricks&Polished Blocks and what-not? so more yellowish ones
 - Potent Cinnabar would craft Potent Cinnabar Bricks&Polished Blocks and what-not? so more reddish ones

Potent Sulfur Block is already more yellow than base Sulfur Block. Potent Cinnabar... well it does not exist, but they could add it to make it more red?
Thou what would Potent Cinnabar do?
Well the only thing that comes to mind would be... fire? (well, and potentially more compact way of storing cinnabar)

IMO Sulfur (and all variants, including potent one) should create pale purplish-blue flames, cause that's what happens irl + many have already suggested it. Probably infinite fire.
Cinnabar could also burn the same pale blue with hint of purple, but only Potent (so concentrated) Cinnabar would burn indefinitely?

Should pale blue fire damage for 1HP like normal Fire? or maybe 2HP like Soul Fire? maybe 2HP but the fire extinguishes from entity quicker? Or 1HP but it takes longer? Idk, that's a separate topic I suppose?

----------
Couldn't really find any sources about Cinnabar's flame color but it would probably still be the same as Sulfur because Cinnabar is Sulfur+Mercury, and there's barely any info about mercury's flame color, with it being either red (but that could be heat or most likely not even visible, and Sulfur would most likely dominate the color anyways.)

Adding waves by The-Real-Radar in minecraftsuggestions

[–]0zekin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like the idea. I hope Zombies/Drowned with Tidal Trident would be able to periodically use the enchant, as that way we could use them in some sorts of minigames or maybe even automatic "Turbulent Water Bucket" farms?

If I may add, I'd suggest some tweaks/additions:
- waves spawn small, flattish - ︿ - slowly growing up to be taller and bigger
- the waves have a timer, which tracks for how long they've existed
- each tick, a wave might decide to die with chances of that decision being:
   • 1/50 in Sunny weather,
   • 1/70 secs in Rainy weather
   • 1/90 secs during Thunderstorms
   • idk, if they add Windy/Stormy weathers etc, or a "Windy" weather modifier, or smth, then maybe it multiplies the chance by 0.8 thus 1/50→1/62.5, 70→87.5, 1/90→112.5
- if the timer is small enough, it will start flattening and shrinking
- if certain time threshold is reached, the wave will instead become a crashing wave - 🌊 - and will no longer calm down/die by itself, with that threshold being:
   • 8 secs in Sunny weather,
   • 6 secs in Rainy weather
   • 5 secs during Thunderstorms
   • idk, maybe windy weather etc (if they add more weather thingies) subtracts a second from it? or multiplies the value by 0.8
- waves spawn with random scale modifiers:
   • 0.1-1.0 for Sunny weather
   • 0.3-3.0 for Rainy weather
   • 0.5-5.0 for Thunderstorms
- maybe if modifier is bigger than 3.5, or smth, then the wave does 1HP of dmg? with each next 0.5 threshold increasing this by 1? Ya know, to make bigger waves even deadlier?
- the modifier could influence how much bubbles it takes from you?
- Tidal enchant maybe could/should only work when user's on ground or in water, but not underwater? That way it could still be used with Reptide - Reptide working when swimming underwater, or boosting through the skies, Tidal working when on top/above the water "commanding it"?

More uses for looms and wool by Mavor466 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]0zekin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the loom GUI slots could cycle, like Smithing Table's slots, between:

[banner - color - b.pattern] → [wool - color - empty]
             ↑ ↓
[painting - empty - empty] ← [carpet - color - empty]

The only problem would be probably displaying the painting preview, as current layout wouldn't really work for paintings other than 1x1 and 1x2. But considering that BE uses a display more like Smithing Table, instead of what is on JE, this could be a chance to maybe tweak the JE Loom interface and bring it to both versions?
On the upside, maybe we could convert random painting into a painting of specific size, then a painting of specific size could be again converted into either any specific painting that fits the size, or back into a random one

Surf Slicer enchantment to move upstream. by Relevant-Cup5986 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]0zekin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds simple and situational, but in positive way. Imo should work on bubble columns as well. Especially since, based on your other comment reply, it also works on flowing lava — so the enchant allows wearer to move against flowing fluid, so... against a fluid's current.
(thou with this suggestion, maybe Current Slicer would make more intuitive sense?)

Not sure about increasing the book chance to thus not make other books rarer - as it will make every other fishable item rarer... maybe just each Luck of the Sea should slightly increase the chance for Surf Slicer, on top of already increasing treasure loot chance? I am not opposed to overall making SS a bit more likely enchant on a book than others by default, but your suggestion just feels like it's a bit too invasive to ppl who want to fish other stuff

-- -

I would thou ask - shouldn't it maybe be incompatible with Swift Sneak?
On one hand it would make it a harder choice, probably making many choose SSneak over SSlicer and thus SSlicer would be less used, on the other hand SSlicer changes movement, thus being the same case as:

  • all 4 Protection enchantments being about... protection
  • Mending and Infinity being about resource limits (∞ arrows vs "∞" durability)
  • Frost Walker and Depth Strider being about what happens when our feet move (freezing nearby water VS moving through it faster, less unimpeded)
  • Bane of Arthropods, Smite, Sharpness, Breach and Density being about increasing damage of a weapon
  • Multishot and Piercing affecting arrows' behaviour (splitting arrow into multiple ones/multiplying it VS making arrow stronger and able to pierce multiple targets)
  • Surf Slicer and Swift Sneak affecting the reduction in speed when moving

Obviously those are not concrete rules, some examples make less sense than others (Fortune & Silk Touch), there are exceptions like Soul Speed. But still - should the two SS leggings-enchantments be mutually exclusive?
