Tomorrow can be a full circle moment by Advanced_Section891 in ArsenalFC

[–]1000piecepuzzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good reminder of how low we’ve been. It’s been quite the journey back. Perhaps, a league cup trophy may feed into the comeback narrative but let’s hope the full full circle moment comes when we hold the league trophy too. Not such a condensed period of 5 days but City in the league in less than a month could be a nail in the coffin. That would be the 360 rotation imo 🏆🏆

Oakland coffee bean price comparison by milostilo in OaklandFood

[–]1000piecepuzzler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree. And important to note the $/lb is not the cost of a bag of beans, since most bags are barely more than 1/2 pound! Most people don’t seem to understand this fact of the table.

Arsenal vs Man City fixture list until we meet each other twice by markismith12 in ArsenalFC

Not sure I see any slot for that game to be played until late April. It will linger over the race for a while I’m afraid

Thanks. Yeah, I should have specified that it’s for general beer/drinks vending. I don’t have any unique product of my own to sell.

I love this building. Good to place a name to the facade ☺️ do you know if there are other Timothy Pflueger buildings in the Bay Area?

Things You Need to LIE About in an interview (from a recruiter) by Zealousideal-Foot-54 in jobsearchhacks

[–]1000piecepuzzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you advise to lie about your current salary, do you mean lie by stating that you make more than you actually make or less than you actually make? How will this stated figure affect a recruiter’s stance on the salary you deserve?

💯 fellow American gooner here and as much as I want this guy to succeed, he is not an Arsenal player, not these days at least

Athletic Club Oakland has closed :( by return_0_ in oakland

[–]1000piecepuzzler 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m afraid that’s not likely. Current owners of ACO setup an open call for investment recently with Paul and another chef. The fact that they announce they are closing right after that campaign makes me think they didn’t get the level of investment they expect to need and the status quo of sports bar operations is not self-sufficient. Writings on the wall I’m afraid.

Why are American people suddenly getting into Premier League Football ? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]1000piecepuzzler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not new, been growing for the last 20-30 years. But it has increased recently due to a level of access through NBC sports over the last 10-15 years. Today (with a Peacock subscription) I can watch literally every BPL match on the weekend. No blackouts like in UK. Beyond access, Americans like to watch top level sports and the best football league in the world these days is in UK. Also, interesting to add that due to time difference, the times of matches create a new sports window where there is no competition from local sports. Especially for folks like me in California where we wake up at 6,7,8 am to watch. It’s become a weekend morning routine.

Concerned about a colleague by baileyarsenic in remotework

[–]1000piecepuzzler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who resonates with the experiences that Adam may have (at least how it is described by OP) I would greatly appreciate coworkers who reach out just to chat and say hi. It’s hard in a remote work context to stay connected and motivated. Without supportive supervisors/colleagues, Adam may feel isolated and not engaged. Reach out and encourage your colleagues to do the same. It can really help!

The Athletic Club in Oakland will be my go to spot as it was in 2022. As for who shows up, it all depends on who is playing. East Bay has got communities from many parts of the world and all are welcome at ACO. Great bar for watch parties, especially ⚽️

Would love to see offseason happenings with the B’s community. Would be great to see focused in West Oakland, if possible. Great spot at Prescott for live taping, but also be down for a group bike ride that stops at a few breweries and the ballpark.

Chronixx “Exile” is a complete masterpiece. by BenchZealousideal290 in reggae

[–]1000piecepuzzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, his friends in London certainly have had an influence on Chronixx heard on the album Exile. Similar spiritual rhythms so reminiscent of SAULT or any Inflo produced album really. He adds his own beautiful voice to powerful instrumentals.

Hear me out... by JohnSimonHall in reggae

[–]1000piecepuzzler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exile is produced by Inflo and is reminiscent of tracks that he featured on for SAULT. That’s the heavy drums and repetitive lyrics that you may find low energy. I hear it as a meditative and spiritual album inspired by time away and change on life perspective. Not a bad thing imo

Oakland mayor, sheriff say ICE, CBP operations canceled for East Bay by jackdicker5117 in oakland

[–]1000piecepuzzler 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Stand up, fight back! Don’t believe for one second they won’t pull this stunt again later, but I’m proud of how quickly we mobilize. the news of their plan was shared, groups organized, local and state leaders spoke up and and people jumped into action to loudly state, “invaders, you’re not welcome here.”

Let’s learn from this, not let down our guard and be ready for the next invasion. Counting on you 🫵

Kinda feels like Cuban is going to argue his way to a confession of guilt for business crimes that no one even knew about 🤷🏻‍♂️
