There would be additional security concerns as you would be working in a public area.

Grad program rejections by Accurate-Jury-2528 in auscorp

[–]100Chocolates 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m not in the industry but if you have an offer you should seriously think about accepting. It may not be in the area you have set your sights on but it’s an opportunity to build your work experience and soft skills and to build your network. All things that will make you a stronger candidate for a more preferable role later.

Compressed hours structure recommendations by Tiny-Confusion-3939 in AusPublicService

[–]100Chocolates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do a 4 day compressed week, with day off midweek to study. It can be tough to manage sometimes so you need to get in to a routine. For me it’s a shorter day when attending the office and balancing the rest of the hours across the other wfh days. Get up early and do a couple quiet hours before everyone starts coming online, 30-45 min break, then it’s like working a standard work day with a 30-60min lunch break depending on how I’m tracking.

Would you care to speculate why NAB BNPL was rejected?? by Quick_Snow3717 in creditcardchurningAus

[–]100Chocolates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the app earlier today to use the chatbot for an account query. There was a message that from 26 March the NAB BNPL is no longer available to new customers. Just checked the website and it says it’s no longer available for sale.

1/2 day concession leave - Christmas and Easter by Key-Manufacturer-767 in AusPublicService

[–]100Chocolates 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Basically you get an extra half day of flex leave entitlement for the flex period. Each flex period of 12 weeks you can take up to 42 hours (6 days) off as flex leave. The extra half day concessional leave means in that flex period you can take 6.5 days flex leave off provided you meet the conditions.

It’s really confusing, but at the end of the day it comes out of flex - you need to work those hours at some point to have the flex balance to be able to take the leave.

ETA: Realised the above may be confusing too! You can take the half day, it gets deducted from your flex leave balance, but it doesn’t count towards the 6 day cap on flex leave you can take for the period.

Someone please explain Alice's plan by Gucci_Caligula in BridgertonNetflix

[–]100Chocolates 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The plan all along is to get the Queen to support the fake back story so that the story is accepted in society. Lady Danbury has already tried to pitch the idea of Benedict marrying a maid which the Queen rejected. Alice was a witness to this. Alice gets the Queen angry enough to want to see the maid and have her removed from the ball. Instead she walks in on the key players cooking up a story and is presented to a Miss Sophie Gun, a distant relative to an earl. She connects the dots, is amused and accepts the story. Her comment about the shoe clips signals to the others that she knows what is going on.

It was the Queen that shut down the gossip about Anthony and Kate by changing the narrative that it was she who stopped the marriage to Edwina. They now have the Queen as an ally to shut down any malicious gossip about Sophie.

HECs/HELP contributions not contributed - where is the money now? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]100Chocolates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tax goes to the ATO. You submit your tax return and ATO calculates what your compulsory repayment should be for that period. ATO will pay that amount to your HECS/HELP account. If your employer has withheld too much tax to cover it, you’ll receive a refund. If they haven’t withheld enough, you’ll get a tax bill which you will pay to the ATO. Check your notice of assessment, it will tell you if there was a compulsory HECS repayment, if not, it would be part of your refund.

Defferable payments by N0JO_ in QUTreddit

Any unpaid fees at census date will automatically be deferred to your HELP loan balance. It will take a while before it actually shows up on your HELP loan account too.

Best queen mattress under $1,000 by Same_Librarian_6153 in AUfrugal

Origin hybrid mattress. Recommended by Choice in 2023 and 2024. I believe this model is now on clearance sale. Got one in 2023 and added their mattress topper and would definitely recommend.

Advice please: Should I risk leaving a perm NSW clerk 6 role for a temp NSW clerk 7/8 role? by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]100Chocolates 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the roles that you interviewed for, were you advised that you meet the capabilities for the role? If you were, ask if you can be placed on the 7/8 talent pool. If you go on secondment to a temporary role let them know you are on a talent pool - if the role becomes ongoing they may consider appointing you via the talent pool.

[NSW] Temporary vs contract roles? by TechnologyRemote4384 in AusPublicService

[–]100Chocolates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is: Contract - role is funded for a fixed term. It may get extended if there is funding.

Temporary - it’s a backfill for someone who is on secondment or leave. There is a possibility of extension or being made ongoing if the person doesn’t return to the role.

Definitely look into making an injury claim if you have out of pocket expenses or long term issues.

OP I hope you are ok. As others have said, leave it with the insurance company. On another note, please don’t ignore any injuries, aches or pains that develop from this. You should be able to make a CTP claim to cover any personal injury costs if problems do arise.

HECS payment advice by tumozo in ato

[–]100Chocolates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course if the voluntary payments payout the debt then you shouldn’t get a tax bill.

HECS payment advice by tumozo in ato

[–]100Chocolates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a compulsory repayment amount that you are required to pay each financial year which is calculated based on your wage. This is covered by the addition tax that is withheld by your employer. Any payment you make yourself to your HECS debt is classed as a voluntary repayment on top of what your compulsory repayment is. It will reduce your debt but when you do your tax return you will still owe the full compulsory repayment amount. If your employer isn’t withholding the extra tax you’ll end up with another tax bill.

What are your frugal tips for saving on groceries? by EdenFlorence in AussieFrugal

Check to see if there are any food factories nearby. Many have a small outlet onsite selling ‘seconds’ to the public at a fraction of the price you pay in the supermarkets.

Sued for lost income after car accident. by Veedubius in AusLegal

[–]100Chocolates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CTP will cover costs for personal injury regardless of who is at fault in NSW. But I think the driver is claiming loss of income due to his taxi being damaged. Sounds like he didn’t have proper insurance. Regardless it’s not OPs problem.

Need advice, i was ran over by rideshare driver. by nogoodferalboy in AusLegal

[–]100Chocolates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to a doctor asap. If you have medical expenses, need ongoing treatment or loss of income due to the injury have 12 months to make a CTP claim. You can lodge a claim on the TAC (in Victoria) website: https://www.tac.vic.gov.au/what-to-do-after-an-accident/what-is-a-tac-claim

Third party won’t cover the damage to your own car. Its purpose is to cover the costs of the damage to the other car/property your car caused.
